Grünkohlfahrt

Moin, moin!

Join us on Saturday, February 22 for an authentic northern German Grünkohlfahrt! What is a Grünkohlfahrt? A group of friends bar hopping their way to their final destination for a delicious meal of Grünkohl, Kassler, Pinkel and Salzkartoffeln, and of course beer! Read about the tradition here.

Our Grünkohlfahrt will start in the parking lot of Bed, Bath and Beyond at the corner of University and 1st, near the Cherry Creek Mall. The tour will make stops at the Cherry Cricket and Milwaukee St. Tavern and will end up at Continental Deli, where Grünkohl and free beer will be served. Our group will play games and do trivia challenges along the way.

Registration is $30 for GACC members and $35 for non-members. Price includes: light snacks during the tour, two drink coupons at the Cherry Cricket, two drink coupons at the Milwaukee St. Tavern, a full Grünkohl meal at Continental Deli and delicious Paulaner beer, which was generously donated from our partners at Paulaner HP USA. Not a GACC member? Sign up here. It's easy!

Participation is limited to 30 people, so be sure to register at this link to secure your spot. We will need an exact head count for the drinks and food, so no walk-ons!

When: Saturday, February 22nd. 2:00pm

Where: We will meet at the northwest corner of the Bed, Bath and Beyond parking lot, located at the corner of University and 1st. The group will walk to the Cherry Cricket and proceed to the Milwaukee St. Tavern, and end at Continental Deli at Steele and 2nd around 4:00pm.

This was probably one of the funnest events that Denver Stammtisch and the GACC has ever put on! If you missed it this year, we are definitely doing this again next year.

I have very little German skills. I am about 3/4 through the Pimsleur German one and have tried some other sources like Michel Thomas, GermanPOD101, and Easy German on youtube. I am by no means fluent but I really want to learn. Just not clear on the skill level expected. Any guidance? I already was told by other groups that I'm not at the appropriate level.

We may just go to the continental deli, I'm bringing 2 kids so we will skip the bar hopping and stock up on Wurst!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
