The active part of the Manchester Stammtisch is a social group that mainly consists of Germans living in Manchester and surrounding areas or German speakers. We meet up fortnightly in a bar in Manchester City Centre, currently the Slug and Lettuce on Deansgate.
Everybody with an interest in speaking German is welcome to join us at these meetings.
We meet at 7pm and for the first hour is often a mix of German and English, giving those new to the German language an opportunity to listen and/or practice. This part of the evening isn't a formal lesson though, but rather offers an opportunity to talk about learning German. If you are interested in more formal online learning, why not a take a look at http://stammtischmanchester.co.uk/learning-...
After 8pm almost all of the conversation at Stammtisch will be in German and the pace of the group conversation will be that of native speakers.
Please note: For the meetings in Slug and Lettuce - Deansgate we should be in the dining area - to the right when you walk into the bar.
We are also keen to offer events and activities that are not bar related and that are more family friendly. To that end we also arrange day trips, watch sport or theatre together and have arranged meals out.
So sign up for updates and you should receive emails about forthcoming activities.
