Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 evening paddles. 525 Basswood Ave. Nashville 37209

Evening is the best time to be on the water. This will be for newcomers and seasoned SUP'ers. Easy lite fun paddles, and we may throw in a interval or two for training. We will go to the river if current allows, if not we will play in the Harbor. If you need a board, 30.00 will get you one for the evening, that includes paddle, PFD, leash and board. If you have a board it's free. Let me know if your coming to make sure we have enough boards. Come join us!

Hi all. I just wanted to say being my first time out on a paddle board, I'm happy I didn't fall in. The river was very swift, and I guess that I was also being pulled into a current, I didn't realize it due to the fact that I was focusing on saying upright waiting for the waves to subside from a passing boat. Niel was quick to alert me to get on my knees and paddle back. He instructed us that we were not going into the river and were to stay in the harbor. I heard that I scared a few people, but I wasn't scared myself. I feel very comfortable on the water and knew if I did fall in, I'd just grab my board and climb back on. (I was attached to it, so wasn't going to lose it.) Myself, I enjoyed the experience, and I will probably do it again. I do wish we would have had a better turnout, but due to the rain, I think some didn't show up. And I wish we could have gone out to the river.

Stephany - so sorry you did not enjoy the experience. I've been attending the meetups since the end of May and have always found Cindy and Neil to be extremely professional and helpful. The river tonight looked calm and serene but was actually deceptively treacherous and I think that caught everyone off guard. I for one am grateful that Neil was concerned for everyone's safety and watched to make sure everyone was safe. The fee is for rental of the board and not the instruction - if you go online the fees for instruction are clearly posted, and paddling aimlessly is kind of what paddle boarding is all about :) I've spent several evenings just paddling around and enjoying the harbor and not going out on the river when it has been rough. I hope you give them another chance.

That time. No matter how much experience a person has on water, it can be dangerous and all of my instincts were that tonight you two were in danger.

Again thank you for your support and understanding that things were very different tonight than normal.

Stephany, I am sorry for your bad experience. Clearly that is not what was intended. I thank you for your honest feedback. Please forward me an address so that I can refund you the money.
    Thank you,
    Neil

This was the biggest waste of 30.00 I have spent. Get there, start 20 minutes late. Paddle out a ways, then instructor goes back to get a life vest. 20 minutes later, after paddling aimlessly, instructor returns, and yet still does not have the other girls life jacket. After more aimless paddling, three of the members get stuck in the river current without life jackets physically on. On the paddle back, the instructor is no where to be found, out helping his friends that didn't pay to participate. I found this operation unprofessional, and in this case, dangerous to a new SUP'er. I know many people in the Northern Nash area who SUP and I will not send them this way.

I'm on my way. Traffic downtown and on 440 is ridiculous

I gotta admit that I'm a little disbelieving of this forecast update based on how black the sky is looking at the moment, but the Trace Bikes meterologist (who has not been wrong yet) just posted this update for the bellevue/Nachez trace area: "Even though there are storms above the metro right now, they are forming along a passing cold front. We'll be in the clear by 6:00 pm for sure!"
