September Scenario

Our September SFB game has been scheduled. This time, I will comb through the Scenario books and pick out a pre-made scenario for us to use. If anyone has a particular scenario he would like to try, post it and I will check it out. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Meanwhile, if/when I find a good one to use, I will post the details.

See you on September 8th!

Tonight I will sit down and put together a 500 BPV opposition force. A Klingon and a Gorn(for giggles).

I'm a 'maybe' for tomorrow. My classes just started and I've already got a lot to do. I'll do my best to be there, though, as I may need the diversion anyhow.

Gorn would be interesting. Their Plasma Torpedoes would be severely reduced in effectiveness, since they will have to travel further to reach their targets. A race with Disruptors or other longer-range direct-fire weapons would have more advantage, I think.

This sounds like a classic Fed-Klingon engagement. Although, I suppose the it could be interesting against the Tholians...or even Gorn!! I'm thinking Gorn, we haven't played them much. Feedback??

The Kaufman Retrograde it is! The Scenario is SG32.0, but with our attendance being somewhat diminished this month, we will probably play the Frigate variant (SG32.63)--five Federation FFs vs. 500BPV of opposing ships. I'm open to suggestions concerning the opposing force; if someone else wishes to compose that force, I would be fine with that. The default year for the scenario is Y172. The Kaufman Retrograde is a tactic wherein the Fed ships move at a speed of 10-20 in reverse, firing their weapons in narrow salvoes at a single target each turn. The challenge for the opponent is to keep up with the Federation ships and still be able to cause enough damage to them without being obliterated.

I havn't really looked through any of the S modules, but I know we kicked around the idea of doing something from the "early years" a while ago....what do you think?
