First celebrity guest announced! None other than Wil Wheaton of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Eureka!

I will be inquiring about getting a table like we had at Wizard World.

Last year was better, but this year I got a picture with Kirk Thatcher, who does special effects. that's worth a whole star. I was very impressed with Garrett Wang; what a cutie!

I didn't have as much fun as last year. This year felt unorganized! The doors to the vendor's area were opened late, and they didn't have enough doors open so people stood in line way too long. Someone should have gotten the AC on sooner because the vendor room became stifling hot quickly. They didn't let us know that Garrett Wang was moderating Gigi's panel. I would have gone earlier if I had known. And while Garrett was a "celebrity guest" he wasn't scheduled for a panel. (What's up with that?)

I did enjoy Wil Wheaton's panel, but there should have been more time for questions from the floor and less of the "interview" by the moderator.

I wish I could have meet more of the group members. I will try to get myself better organized as well.

Wil Wheaton's panel is at Noon in panel room 1. After the panel, let's gather by the big windows outside the room and introduce ourselves. Maybe decide on a place to eat later or figure something out.

Wil was engaging and truly much better to watch live then on TNG. I liked it more then I thought I would actually. Much like Shatner which I went into with a prejudice and much talk about how he was, and he was much better then expected. The key to these panels seems to be give yourself really low expectations and you will be happy with the show.

Garret Wang is onstage with Gigi Edgley, ;-)

Garret moderated two panels we were at, the Gigi one and Michael Biehn. He did a good job, even though Biehn seemed like a rather difficult interview. Biehn's wife
Jennifer was a bit over the top promoting stuff, but also needed to give the panel a little charisma and response that seemed a bit lacking with Michael, who does not apparently like to be called Mike, which became a sort of running gag through the hour long panel.

Anyone planning on attending the costme contest this evening? I've got 3 hours to kill and can only think of heading home. I fear once home I wouldn't return.

I'm waiting for the Y Max.

I screwed up with my tickets and now will need to wait in line to buy a pass. So, I will be at the convention center early. I will be wearing a homemade LOUD Star Trek shirt. Made with Star Trek printed fabric. Wil Wheaton is speaking at noon on Saturday. Let's try to find each other in line to get in that room. I will probably line up as soon as I get in the convention.

I am emailing attendees my cell number so we can text.

      September 19, 2014

    • Daniel D.

After Wheaton is Dirk Benedict and Michael Bein same room, a true Sci Fi room. I will try to get there by 9 as well.

We don't have a table this year. So it would be great to figure out how to meet at the Con. Lunch maybe? What are your ideas?

    3 · September 15, 2014

    • LauraH

Ilana, awww bummer I was looking forward to staffing the table, but lunch sounds great! Everyone, feel free to text me when you get there and we can meet up and terrorize the con en mass and maybe do lunch. :) See you all there!

Will we have a table this time? If so, I'm happy to volunteer to man the table Saturday.

    1 · September 15, 2014

    • LauraH

Good point, that is an antiquated phrase. I'll try to use "staff the table" from now on. :)

    • Charles F. R.

so we do have a table?

      September 18, 2014

I'm volunteering but going to try and figure out a way to bring a uniform to wear when I'm done. I'm not at 'Rough Level' though so I'll just cheer you on:)

      September 17, 2014

    • LauraH

If they need more volunteers I'm game. I love to help out when I can.

Sorry that I had to change my RSVP to no - business commitments to take care of just came up for Saturday. Have to attend a meeting at 9:30 - till 11:00, then the afternoon hosting a Meet up at 3. Then going to meetup for Autumnal Equinox Celebration. Plan to attend RCCC next year for sure.

what time are people getting into line???

    1 · September 17, 2014

  • Lou

I've been scheduled for a vounteer shift Saturday A.M. but plan on being there most of the day. That might put a cramp in my uniform plans.

    September 17, 2014

  • Lisa D.

Michael Biehn and Sasha Roiz?! *pant*, *pant*. Hoo boy! Hey, a married lady can look, can't she? As the very old joke goes, "I don't care where he or she gets her appetite. Just as long as she always comes home for dinner." Excellent one, eh? :-) !

    1 · September 15, 2014

  • Lou

I'm hoping to attend this year if everything goes as planned. The plan being to have moved to within an hour of Portland by the end of this summer. Fingers crossed:)

Yaay! We're crossing our fingers too! You're gonna LOVE this nutty bunch o' Trekkies! WELCOME!

      September 15, 2014

  • Karla

I will help you, Laura, at the table. This will be a good way for me to meet people since I am a Newbie. Never dreamed that when I saw the original Star Trek Series in the 60s that I would have the good fortune to be part of a group like this. Am glad to be a member.

The schedule is posted under the programming tab on the RCCC website.

  • Murrianna

Anyone wearing a costume/cosplaying? If so, what are you planning to wear?

    September 7, 2014

    • Lou

I'll probably be wearing TOS, possibly a Scotty Tunic. If not that then TNG Command uniform.

      1 · September 8, 2014

  • Ilana L.

RCCC has added Garrett Wang as one of the celebrity guests. Poor Ensign Kim...seven years without a promotion! But he's a hottie (and a genuinely nice person.)

Hi everyone. I'm planning on moving to Vancouver, WA and, if everything goes as planned, should be arriving on August 1st. I'm looking forward to meeting some fellow Star Trek/Sci-Fi fans in the area. See you soon!

Welcome. We'll see you when you arrive!

I'm all set to go. Going to be dressed as a casual Star Fleet officer with a SUPER shiny Voyager comm badge.

If the stars all align as foretold, I'll be present for this!
