Ilana's Book PRE-Launch Party

My book, "All You Need To Know About Disability Is On Star Trek" will be released on July 26th in celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Join me in celebrating the beginning of my new mission to help people see disability issues on Star Trek. I will be reading from the book, sharing what I learned from interviews with script writers and fans, signing books and giving out discount coupons for eBook.

We'll have more fun than a Klingon opera. (And better food!)

The 7pm reading is upstairs in the over 21 area.  At 8pm, I will be moving downstairs to the main floor.

Been working and studying long hours, was (still going too!) write a review this weekend!

Trekkies Everywhere, PLEASE read! Ilana just needs 1, ONE more 5***** review of her book on Amazon and THEN! Amazon will promote her book. Amazon rules, but there you go. Just one person (Maybe more?? Too much to ask??) is all that's needed, so let's cough up just one more 5***** star review on Amazon. Here's the link:

just go to and enter her name:
    Ilana Lehmann

P.S. As far as I can tell, of the 4 existing 5 star reviews, Jenn and I are the only 2 I recognize from STFNW. But I've been wrong before.....

Thanks for the reminder Lisa. Did one just now.

You're such a sweetheart, Rebecca! Ilana now has her 5 - 5 star feedback ratings on Amazon and Amazon will now promote her book. Doncha just love it when Trekkies jump into action and make good things happen, like BJO Trimble's massive letter-writing campaign that saved TO from cancellation back in '67? Too bad Trekkies don't actually run the world. Thanks sweetie! :-)!

Superb! Not at all a lecture/tutorial, but rather a lively, insightful and fun experience. Lots of back and forth, comments, questions etc., from the group, very interactive and enjoyable. Once again, Ilana, you 'da bomb! (or maybe a photon torpedo.)
May your book fly off the "shelves" at Warp Speed in numbers greater than (something that invaded the Enterprise in gi-normous numbers, <insert multiple episode references here>). Here's to you, dear officially Published Author!

Anyone need a ride? I'm in Portland, and can take one person only, (These racy, two-seater sports cars can be so limiting, sigh....;-) ).
Also, check out the video link to George Takei's guest appearance on Bill Maher's HBO show last Friday night. I posted the link to YouTube over in the "Discussions" section. Very cool interview with Takei!!

Okay, I promise I'm done. Really. I'm shutting up. I'm leaving now. Bye!

Why? <snark> Oh, right! We wouldn't want him to go flying out of my convertible at 90 miles an hour, now would we?

Sorry I have to cancel, something pressing came up. I will catch you at the next one. Best, Charles.

(Read This *First*, then See Above.)

I've been watching the turnout RSVPs for Ilana's Book Launch Party and to be honest, I'm a little disappointed that the turnout is on the low side (9).
I'd like to speak directly about the enormous, contributions Ilana has made to our little Star Trek group. While some of us may have mentally thrown on the brakes upon reading the word "Disability",
consider that this party is also about acknowledging all those fun activities Ilana has single-handedly made happen for all of us. It's a show of support (+ FUN!) for her and I'm sure Chris, Chad, and Daniel diG. and many more agree.
Ilana single-handedly organized a booth for us at "ComicCon Portland" in January earlier this year. Lots of us had a ball staffing the booth over the two and a half days of our presence at the Con (Pssstt! Free Passes for folks who staff the the booth!). (Cont., see above.)

10 is a solid turnout for this event, certainly I would like to see that number double, but I do believe our core members are doing everything they can to make this event. I am looking forward to it, and I am sure that the ones that are unable to attend are genuinely disappointed they can't. Will there be a post-launch party? I actually like most anything with the word "launch" in it, feels so ....SPACE!

You GO, Daniel! :-) Yeah, I like "Spacey",, wait - you said........never mind.

(Read *Last*, See Below For Part 1. )

AND she's organizing the "STFNW" booth at "ComicCon Portland" in September.
She also started our monthly Guardian Games Night; she organized our monthly tables & time for Star Trek fans to get together, play board games and meet new Trekkies.
There are plenty more examples of how she enthusiastically makes great activities happen for every one of us, but I think I've made my point -
***ILANA***!! Her book is truly engaging. You don't have to be disabled to see some clever, sharp and fun thinking that's all about Star Trek.
So, if your Friday night plans are not yet set, please consider coming Friday. Ilana's great FUN and heck! It's a PARTY WITH TREKKIES!
I am so looking forward to seeing everyone Friday night. Plus! fresh, home-made Raspberry Pie, so get there early.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, everyone. That Old Big-Mouth Trekkie Lady,

If you can support telepresence I'll attend! Can't afford the time to commute just yet!

I am so sorry I can't come! I'm going to be in Canada for a wedding.

      You will be missed, Chad.

  • Lisa D.

HeIl **YES** I'll be there!!! AND let's hear hear it, everbody - THREE CHEERS FOR ILANA and her tremendous accomplishment -
HIP, HIP HOORAY! Definitely the proud Trekkie with the *mostest* Trekkie knowledge in any of the 48 lower, contiguous United States. (Sorry sweetie. I just can't vouch for Alaska & Hawaii. :-). )

I also had the privilege of reading parts of her early manuscript. I promise, you will not in the least bit be disappointed. It's a marvel! Wouldn't miss this for love or money..............
although, upon further consideration, a couple tens of $$millions$$ might do the trick. <insert snarky face here>.

See you then, Hot Stuff Writer!

All the Very, Very Best Ilana, and Sending You L11111 w E1 wears w1+w 11 Q111+qots of "Very Large Book Sales" thoughts,

P.S. Chaaaaaa-aaad, you reeeeeeally need to get your priorities straightened out. <Toggle 'Deeply Sarcastic Tone Off' >.
