We enjoyed ourselves so much at the last 3 plays we attended at Showtimers (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Once Upon a Mattress, and Messiah on the Frigidaire), I thought this one sounded just as entertaining. Here’s the plot: “It's the 4th of July and the women of Happy Meadows Retirement Home are longing for independence. They're fed up with the rules, the regulations, and especially the food. When Holly receives a cry for help from her grandson, she rallies her comrades in arms, Mary, Betty, and Shirley, and the women plot a break out. But the best laid plans often go awry.”
The production begins at 8:00pm. I’d like to ask that everyone be there by 7:40pm for ticket purchasing and seating. Tickets are $12 for adults, although we were given a group discount last time. I'll post the discounted rate in the comment section when it gets closer. Please note that the RSVP deadline for this event is 3 days in advance of the show—Wednesday, June 25th. I need to be able to provide the playhouse with a solid headcount.
Also, if anyone is interested, we can catch a quick dinner somewhere in the 419/Electric Rd area before the show—post a comment if you’re interested or have a restaurant suggestion. Last time we went to 419 West and that worked out well--but I'm completely open to popular vote. Other options are Annie Moore’s on Café Asia 2.
