Start The Conversation is a group intended for all non-native, English speakers who want to improve their English conversation. It is also a group that connects people and allows them to improve their English skills at their own pace. It is the ultimate non-classroom experience and is organized by a veteran teacher with more than ten years experience working with non-native speakers.
Therefore, whether you are looking to improve your English conversation for fun, work, or personal reasons, this group provides the forum for socializing, networking, and making lasting friendships.
Lastly, when you join please make sure to include a photo of yourself as this helps the organizer and other members recognize you when you attend events.
Good Rules of Thumb (Tips)
1. Keep your RSVP up-to-date. If something changes and you are unable to make it please update your status. This allows others who are on the wait list to add to the event.
2. If you are going to be late please let the Organizers know by posting a message on the board. Some events require a reservation. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, we need to know so adjustments can be made.
3. If you are lost, please post a message or email the Organizers and we will get in contact with you.
Every few months inactive members will be deleted from the group. This is so we can keep the group balanced and current. If this happens to you and you'd like to re-join, we'd be more than happy to have you back. Just sign-up again.
Brief History of Start The Conversation
This meet up began in Boston, Massachusetts in December 2012. It has proven to be so successful that a second meet up group has been opened in Bangkok under the same name and is run by the original Organizer of the Boston location, Judith. Should you be returning to Thailand or plan to visit, please join us for an event as we'd love to meet you. Check out our website: http://www.meetup.com/Start-The-Conversatio...
Remember, when learning English, it is important to practice, make mistakes and have fun!
