Startegy 2nd Athens Meetup

Happy new year startegists :-)

Our next event is now set for the 29th of January! We plan to make this an even better event following the feedback that we received. Last time there were 14 positive reviews and 84 participants (%58 men / 42% women).

The format of the event is going to be a pleasant surprise again! However, one of the things that we will do for sure is to get willing startegists to give a 2 minute pitch of an idea (as simple or extraordinary as it may sound). Subsequently, we will select together a number of those ideas and run the rest of the event around them. So if you fancy getting support and hopefully a team to work with your idea, this is the chance!

Most importantly though, keep in mind that this is an event of participants and for participants. Most of the time we will interact, network and bounce ideas off each other. However, by the end of the event we will get somewhere, hopefully get you started with your idea ...and play few creative games along the way.

Also at this event, we will briefly revisit some of the ideas that were popular last time and we will get updates from some of the startegists that indeed started a venture following our last event. Everyone will have a chance to talk with them and find out how things are working out. Hint: the word on the street is that some got funding already :-)

Doors will open at 10am and we will start at 11:00am sharp (and we will be very strict about it:-). The event will conclude at 6:00pm. Again for this event we must RSVP because the landlord needs to control entrance to the premises and because we need to organise food, drinks and your welcome pack! So please RSVP now .

You can also check out photos from the previous event here .

Let's make this a happy new startegic year!

This is the first Startegy event I attended and what can I say but WELL DONE! I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere created where people were open in sharing their ideas! Very rare! Looking forward to the next one! :)

Overall a good experience, once again. The voting system worked perfectly. I think there were plenty of good ideas, but the final output seemed to me rather poor. I suggest that next time, working teams have the same number of people and work exclusively on one idea each, so that everybody feels responsible for the development of the ideas. I heard many people complaining for the meeting being held in english and I somehow agree: this is a greek initiative, held in Greece!!!! Regarding the last game, I personally found it out of context. Once again, thank you O.C.!

A very well organized meeting with lots of exciting and excited people eager to share their views, collaborate and listen. We should perhaps set it up as a two-speed event. An event like the last every few months and a more informal one, perhaps in smaller groups on a more regular basis, for the exchange of ideas. Perhaps a weekly Colab meeting?

Looking forward to the next event.

Was just an excellent experience on my behalf. Met so many new people, which is so hard in our common daily life. Listened to ideas, and interesting ways on brainstorming those ideas in order begin planning.

This was a very good experience for me, having the oportunity to meet interesting people, exchange our ideas in such an enjoyable way and discover different ways to look for the future...
I found the event very well organized and I would like to thank all of the organizers for hosting.

It was a very refreshing experience that counters the current economic-crisis glum, and speaking personally, was inspiring and helpful. I was happy to see interesting ideas, energizing group games, effective coordinating processes and very positive people that were willing and able to share their experience and offer their comments. It was a very positive thing that the organizers exhibited openess to feedback, implementing suggestions from the 1st meeting's feedback and also allowed the possibility to get exposed to presentations from that 1st meeting, both two which 'succeded' back then and one which 'failed' and yet managed to receive positive feedback from "Athens startup weekend".

I believe that this event can offer more as time passes by and as more people offer their comments and constructive criticism.

Kudos for the great catering. I hope next time there will also be tea and fruits available.

Very effective way of getting new ideas on the table and giving entrepreneurs a good nudget to move forward.

I found the meeting to be well attended, well organized and to provide a positive opportunity to present the various business ideas developed and rated. While we did not begin on time, I feel that our time, once the program began, was well spent.

The whole event certainly had its peaks and valleys. Some instances where very enjoyable. I think that the most important thing was networking and meeting really interesting new people.

The thing that bothered me is certain people using the event indirectly to promote their current job/services. For instance trying to find "partners" - customers for their pyramid/mlm scheme. I think that there were a couple of good ideas out there that were unfortunately not selected because of poor presentation...I think the fact that the pitchers couldnt be well heard in the back didnt help either.

All in all, for me it was a really enjoyable experience and has really great potential.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
