Science & Psychology of Better Startups #3 - Lean Courage

  • October 8, 2013 · 7:00 PM

 PART 1

Networking Activity (15)

A fast paced human interaction that will acquaint you with your fellow startup specialist

PART 2

Main topic (45 minutes)

The Psychology Behind Lean Methodology or The Logical Need for Courage

Data analysis and intuition are not mutually exclusive -

It is not about analysis and logic versus intuition and innovation. It is about knowing how to integrate and balance both requirements.  This art of synthesizing analysis and intuition has many facets.

One facet of learning to blend the analytical approach with the intuitive approach has to do with the psychology of courage. The question is, what is courage, and, how does one develop it in the process of building your company?

In this presentation in the ‘Better Thinking Series’, organizational psychologist and Management 3.0 expert Atma will explain how to navigate the competing psychology of logic vs intuition.  This will include practical steps you can begin taking immediately.

PART 3

Interactive discussion - your next step (60 minutes)

Participants get to share their current project and pain. They will then receive feedback from the group. To facilitate everyone we break up into groups of 5-7.

About your host -

Atma is a social scientist and entrepreneur who begun studying the implications and obstacles facing startups in 1997. He is on a mission to bring entrepreneurs into the world of Management 3.0

Why there is no cost:

We are going to waive the previous cover charge.  This will be an experiment to see how members manage their RSVPs. To encourage people to respond accurately there is a new rule: anyone with 3 Rsvp no-shows will be removed from the member list (that seems fair :)

Community Mission

The goal of this meetup is to build a community of startup specialists who can help themselves, and others, become more effective in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
