Startup Grind Council Bluffs Hosts Nick Mauer and Josh Powell (MTRL Design)

Nick Mauer and Josh Powell, MTRL Design

Josh and Nick are the creators of MTRL Design that is an environmentally-responsible creative solutions solving fixing building prototyping branding conceptualizing micro-manufacturing agency firm company business store, with a giant laser.

Josh and Nick opened up shop in the Mastercraft building of North Downtown Omaha in November 2012 along with their laser (Helga) who is utilized to develop a product line made mostly out of solid Bamboo panels, with all manufacturing done in-house. Over the past year they have spent much of their time meeting people, playing with lasers, designing products and working on all sorts of amazing custom projects for local businesses.

In September 2013 they started an Indiegogo campaign to launch a product line and to raise enough funds to start growing their own bamboo, with the goal of being able to use our homegrown boo to produce our product line.
