Chris Thomas is CEO & Co-Founder of eureeca.com, a global crowdinvesting platform. Chris began his career in 2001 in London, working for an Investment Bank. Moving quickly up the firm’s ranks, he advanced within two years to Vice President Sales & Marketing Middle East, responsible for 10 representative offices in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Chris has over 10 years experience in setting up and running businesses. He exited his last major business, an FSA regulated online brokerage with 60 staff in 12 countries, in 2010. He has provided various angel investments owning 2 online businesses and a property company in Brazil. In 2005, Chris’ entrepreneurial ambitions led him to establish an FSA regulated financial markets brokerage company delivering a quality tier of service to the retail FX and CFD market in the Middle East. Employing more than 60 staff in 12 offices around the world, Chris sold the business in 2010.The latest venture in Chris’ portfolio of entrepreneurial ventures is Eureeca, the brainchild of Chris and his business partner and former investment banker Sam Quawasmi. Eureeca provides an online platform for small & medium enterprises (SMEs) to raise funding from the crowd in exchange for equity. A Law LLB (Hons) graduate from Brunel University, Chris also holds financial industry international qualifications from FSA Securities, Derivatives and Regulations and the Chartered Institute of Insurers.

Joanne Kubba -As Head of Strategy, Partnerships & Outreach, Joanne is responsible to guide Eureeca’s, a crowdinvesting platform, strategy and direction focusing on online and offline engagement including engaging partners and stakeholders in the entrepreneurship space from government agencies to partners and coordinating entrepreneurship events. Joanne has over 12 years experience in public affairs, communications, policy and entrepreneurship in particular focusing on SMEs. Prior to take a plunge into the start up scene at Eureeca, Joanne was Director of Corporate Affairs at Hill + Knowlton Strategies where she was responsible in managing strategic clients across government, professional services, finance and energy. At Hill + Knowlton, Joanne was part of a 4 person team who managed an office of 40 consultants covering operations and HR. Her passion for entrepreneurship and startups was nurtured during Joanne’s time at Google as Head of Public affairs and Communications, MENA where she was part of the strategy team working with cross functional teams across engineering, sales and business to execute on Google’s growth in the region specifically focused on SMEs and entrepreneurs. Besides setting out the public affairs strategy for MENA, Joanne focused on developing and executing programmes in issues management, crisis communications, media training and government relations including building relevant partnerships to reach SMEs in the region. Prior to Google, Joanne completed a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a BA in International Development Studies from McGill University.
