I volunteer for Startup Canada, a not-for-profit organization aimed at empowering Canadian entrepreneurs through facilitating networks, educational seminars, and great events.
We have a huge event coming up on November 21st. It's an all day conference followed by an evening reception and an afterparty at the 3 Brewers. The daytime conference is invite-only (let me know if you're interested!) and has a cost. The evening reception has a nominal fee ($15 but don't worry, you make it all back with the free beer) and is open to the public. The after party is also open to the public (but with a cash bar unfortunately).
I work during the day but will definitely be going to the evening reception and after party. If you're an Ottawa entrepreneur and looking to network and party, definitely come out!
All the information can be found here: http://www.startupday.ca
If you want to register for the evening reception, the link is here: http://www.eventbrite.ca/e/startup-canada-day-on-the-hill-reception-tickets-8769851863
You WILL need to actually register for this because the venue is very strict about who they let in and need a guest list 3 days before the event.
The afterparty at the 3 Brewers is more casual so I think you can just show up. But if you'd like to register (maybe there are nametags or something), here is the link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/grow-your-international-trade-network-tickets-9058170231
Again, let me know if you're interested in the all day conference, I believe the cost is $95 which includes food and drink. The speakers list is pretty impressive - Mayor of Ottawa, Ministers, Canada Goose CEO, Brett Wilson, etc.
