Who are you? (Entrepreneur, Developer - Frontend or Backend, Investor, Designer, Biz, Manager)

Lately I've been calling myself a collaboration architect, because our systems and practices lag way behind our technology tools and our understanding. I touch nearly all of the IT stack, and fill whatever roles are needed for the team and the project to succeed. I prefer to design using natural system patterns (nothing like 2 billion years of live field testing and tweaking to optimize a system). My specialties are strategies and integration around emerging and evolving technologies and platforms, and I love stretching a legacy system effectively almost as much as getting something newer to do things that the authors say are impossible. I have a good track record of spotting trends early and predicting what will make it and what won't. Half of the ten biggest new technologies of the past two years were predicted by my "wheel of technology convergence and synergy" nearly four years ago, when most of them weren't on anyone's radar. Given more time I could be more concise. ;-)

I'm a long-time IT pro, with decades of watching the technology convergence vortex we are now entering take shape. I still hate that the smart doesn't talk to the phone, but I have a shoebox full of product ideas, and half are now buildable. Fun!!
