Startup Breakfast Sessions @ The Typewriter Factory

Remember the days of Startup Tas breakfasts in the lair? They were simple days - coco-pops, toast, shots from the beast (the machine, not the barista) and inspiring discussion.

Unfortunately, we lost the lair and took the opportunity to "grow up" - moving breakfasts to cafes while we sorted out our own space.

This worked for a while, but attendance slowly dwindled as we discovered the real value of the breakfasts had disappeared. We needed the grunge, the ramen-profitable-style food. We needed somewhere we could talk about what we're working on, our successes, and to share #protips.

Well, with a little help from our friends at The Typewriter Factory, we've secured a space that will allow us to revisit those days. With a little help from a supermarket, we'll secure coco-pops, bread + spreads, milk and juice. And of course, we'll have a barista on duty to fuel your morning.

Oh, and to spur on discussion, we've got a guest speaker:

Writing your company's story for the media.
The narrative of your company's life is as unique as you are, but many companies hide their story behind bland business jargon. Find out how to unearth your own voice and tell your story to the media with Jess Tyler of SciBiz Media & Communications.

All we ask is that you bring along a fiver to cover our costs, and convince all the awesome people you know to join us too.

See you this Thursday :D

Very informative talk by Jess Tyler. I walked away very inspired. And the CocoPops weren't too bad either :)

Hi all. If you want me to look at your company as an example during the session, bring along a brochure, business plan, the wording from your home page - anything! I have to use examples so they might as well be yours and you get some free advice! Looking forward to seeing you all.

I like the new format guys. Personally, I wouldn't mind if it even started a bit earlier so it was clear of the business day. If you keep making the effort to get a speaker I'd be more than happy to get there as early as 7:30.

Well, we might just do that. I'll ask some of the other attendees on Thursday, see if earlier will work for others :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
