Indulge in yummy wings & local music outdoors at Tussey Mountain WingFest

This is the 6th of the 7 weekly Tussey Mountain WingFests held at the Tussey Ski Resort's summer outdoor amphitheater/stage.

Each week 3-4 regional restaurants bring their unique variety of wing sauces for attendees to sample their wings and enjoy live music on Tussey Mountain as the sun sets over State College in the distance.

TIME: The gates open at 5:30pm -- Opening band starts about 6pm (this week it's The Project) and the Headlining Band starts about 7:30/8pm (this week's it's a great band, Ted & the Hi-Fi's).

COST: Admission = $5 (parking is FREE)

Wing Cost:  Tickets are $1 each. So 2 wings = $1.  (you have to purchase tickets for food & drink)

Beer Cost: $4 (4 tickets).  There is another alcohol stand that sells some mixed drinks.  Not sure the price, but not much more than $4-5.

Other food & drink (sodas/water) and some basic non-wing food like sandwiches, burgers etc are available at the Tussey's restaurant stand.

BRING #1: CASH as you have to purchase tickets to use for food & drinks and there may only be one ATM on site in the lodge if that. --- It may be possible to use credit cards but its not very convenient there.

BRING #2: Lawn chairs, blankets and a love of music and eating wings.

WHERE: Tussey Mountain Ski Resort in Boalsburg. They set up a stage/ampitheater at the base of their ski hill for summer concerts and movies.

At the end of the night, after sampling as many wings as you want, vote with your ticket stub for your favorite of the 3-4 wing joints competing this week to be crowned at the end of the summer as the Tussey Mountain WingFest Champion.

    Hey all,

Weather looks perfect 75 degrees today and 0% chance of rain. Can't get better than that for an outdoor festival.

I plan to head to Tussey to there about 5:30pm when the gates open. Music starts at 6pm.

If you want to meet at campus, I have a friend who is joining us who is not in MeetUp and I can probably give one other person a ride. So meet at campus about 5:15.

For the rest of you if you just want to meet at Tussey. I will have a couple of chairs and blankets.

To make it easy to find me, I have a Uncle Sam type red, white and blue felt hat still in my car from Fourth of July. I'll either be wearing that or just have it on the blanket or chair. So I guess that could be an usual colorful object to look for to find me.

If you want to text me at[masked] to find me that is good.

    See you tonight.

Wish I could come, but doesn't look like I can make it.

Sorry you can't make it Pat. Maybe you can join for one of the other wine fests or concerts coming up. And I was going to plan to do WingFest as a MeetUp for two weeks from today, which I think is the last WingFest.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
