get in the holiday spirit @ the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert @ the BJC

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra winter tours have become one of my winter traditions over the past 15 years as I get into the holiday spirit with one of my favorite bands.

If you've never seen the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), it's an engulfing holiday spectacle of classical music infused with hard rock melodies & compositions played under an expansive & mesmerizing laser light show & pyrotechnics display.

If you enjoy classical music, I'm sure you'll LOVE this show….If you enjoy hard rock, you'll still love this show….If you enjoy Broadway musicals, you'll also love this show.

TSO in their 15 years of touring for their holiday shows, has created what has been coined, "Rock Theater, the perfect amalgamation of Broadway storytelling with the spectacle of rock, delighting audiences of all ages year after year."

The band will be playing their multi-platinum rock opera, "The Lost Christmas Eve," the band's fourth album and third in the Christmas trilogy.

The band features rock guitarists, keyboardists & drummer, backed by a full 7-10 piece orchestra string section and a cadre of a dozen breathtaking voices from jazz, opera/classical and Broadway vocalists.

Tickets are $33, $41, $51 & $61.

As I've seen TSO 15 times now (13 Christmas shows, + 2 of their Spring tours for their "Beethoven's Last Night" album) I don't need to get the best seats.

So I don't mind getting $41 or $51 level seats, if cost is a concern for some.

For more info on the band and concert, see the press release on the BJC website…

For dinner I'll suggest the Aisian Fusion Galanga (part of the Cozy Thai family) on College Ave. near McDonald's at about 5:30/6pm.

If you would like to meet for dinner note that in the RSVP questions, and what time you can make it to dinner.

(Show starts at 7:30pm--there is NO OPENER, the ENTIRE 2.5 hour show is TSO).

For me the concert was fantastic as always, and good to share it with a new group of people with the Dinner & Activity Club MeetUp.

Just messaged everyone. I'm suggesting Rotelli's on Calder Alley at 5:30pm for dinner/drinks.

Update on tickets. I know there are a couple others who are considering going but haven't RSVP'd. So I'll wait a day or so longer to give a couple others the change to see if they can make it. I'd like to get tickets on Monday possibly. If those of you who are RSVP'd and still wanting to go, private message me to let me know how we can meet in the next couple days to get cash to me or go together to get tickets together. Looks like most are OK w/ the $41 seats. So we will plan for that.

I'm in. I'd prefer to get the $41 tickets. If that's ok with everyone.
