Sun. Boardgaming @ MYRIAD GAMES 12 noon-9pm Staten Island, NY

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Don't forget to wear GREEN!  LOL

Sunday Boardgaming time! Hurray!  Much love and thanks to our Panera Bread venue for hosting our boardgaming group!!!! However, we have a local boardgame store now, so we'll be gaming there now for the time being!  Thanks "Owner Paul" and Myriad Games!

We start at 12pm NOON and finish when the venue closes. That is a potential 12 hours of gaming!!!! YAY!!!!!!

Here is how it works:

  • You bring game(s) that you would like to play.
  • I bring game(s) that I would like to play.
  • People divide up and choose games to play, based on interest, and number of people a game can play.
  • Repeat until there are no more games/gamers/time at the venue! LOL

It really IS that simple.

Beginners are welcome. It is helpful to remember to bring your reading glasses, as many of the games have small print, or directions on the boards or cards.

(Organizer tip: I have a book to read, if I get stuck without a game, or I'll just watch the game being played.)

There is no gambling permitted, including poker.

We play board games, and some dice/tile/card games that are considered to be a part of the "board game genre."  We do not play collectible card games, computer/video games, role playing games (rpg), LARPS, or physical games like pool/ darts/ baseball/ soccer/ fuseball/ air hockey/ ping pong  etc.

Essentially, this is a meet up groups for adults and mature teen-agers. Please invite accordingly. (Thanks!)

While we tend to play "Euro-games" there are members who enjoy playing traditional games.  Members must realize that you get what you put into this group:  if you don't bring games that you enjoy, we can't play them.  Use the Comments space below to discuss what games you are bringing, so folks don't bring duplicates, and/or people have the opportunity to check out the rules online. Also put down games you are hoping to play, so if someone has it, they'll likely pack it in their gaming bag(s).  People can also "claim spots" in games, or at least express interest in playing them.

Please keep in mind that while we *do* want you to purchase food and drink, we do *not* want purchased food and drinks on the board and card games. Please make certain your gaming area is clean of all spills, food, and debris, and please make use of  napkins before handling game components. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Free parking and Buses are available.  The store is in the strip mall next to McDonald's at the corner of Richmond Avenue and Victory Blvd.   Express Bus from Manhattan stop there too.

Potential food sources:  McDonald's,  Food Truck, Subway, Pizza D'Oro, Piscini's, Japanese,  CVS,  Dunkin Donuts, 7-11.   Plus a wide array of take out menu's located in our Glorious ATTENDANCE BINDER of Wonderfulness.  (Look in back folder, please return to binder when done.  Also add any for the neighborhood that deliver too! )

(Some of our menu's include:  La Piazza, 494 Chicken, z-One Diner, and even Indian Clove!)

please type what games you are bringing, or hoping to play in the comments section below.    Thanks!

Hey Denise, I had a hard day (medically) yesterday. I am attempting to go to church (next door). If I still have the strength, I'll be there at 11:30am, but I can not stay long. :( Any chance you can come early? If I'm not there by 11:45am, it means I'm either back home in bed, or on way to hospital. bleh. I'll take tile rummy with me.

Everyone else, I'm sorry. However, as I'm off this week, I'm planning on trying to game as many days as I can. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday morning, and I was hoping to hit the store around noon, if anyone is interested? Anyone else free to game Monday Afternoon? Let me know!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
