Sunday Boardgaming @ Panera Bread (SI MALL)12 noon-9pm Staten Island, NY

Sunday Boardgaming time! Hurray!  Much love and thanks to our Panera Bread venue for hosting our boardgaming group!!!!

We start at 12pm NOON and finish when the venue closes at 9pm. That is a potential 9 hours of gaming!!!! YAY!!!!!!

Here is how it works:

  • You bring game(s) that you would like to play.
  • I bring game(s) that I would like to play.
  • People divide up and choose games to play, based on interest, and number of people a game can play.
  • Repeat until there are no more games/gamers/time at the venue! LOL

It really IS that simple.

Beginners are welcome. It is helpful to remember to bring your reading glasses, as many of the games have small print, or directions on the boards or cards.

(Organizer tip: I have a book to read, if I get stuck without a game, or I'll just watch the game being played.)

There is no gambling permitted, including poker.

We play board games, and some dice/tile/card games that are considered to be a part of the "board game genre."  We do not play collectible card games, computer/video games, role playing games (rpg), LARPS, or physical games like pool/ darts/ baseball/ soccer/ fuseball/ air hockey/ ping pong  etc.

Essentially, this is a meet up groups for adults and mature teen-agers. Please invite accordingly. (Thanks!)

While we tend to play "Euro-games" there are members who enjoy playing traditional games.  Members must realize that you get what you put into this group:  if you don't bring games that you enjoy, we can't play them.  Use the Comments space below to discuss what games you are bringing, so folks don't bring duplicates, and/or people have the opportunity to check out the rules online. Also put down games you are hoping to play, so if someone has it, they'll likely pack it in their gaming bag(s).  People can also "claim spots" in games, or at least express interest in playing them.

Please keep in mind that while we *do* want you to purchase Panera Bread food and drink, we do *not* want purchased food and drinks on the board and card games. Please make certain your gaming area is clean of all spills, food, and debris, and please make use of the napkins before handling game components. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Free parking and Buses are available.  The store is in the strip mall behind the Staten Island Mall, Sears Auto side. It shares a lot with TGiF, Outback, Babies R Us, etc.

Finally......  IGNORE the question where it asks you what you plan to bring.  INSTEAD...please type what games you are bringing, or hoping to play in the comments section below.    Thanks!

Great seeing folks! Played Settlers of Catan, Cards Against Humanity, and Chicken Ceasar. We picked a date for the Gift Exchange Day (Dec 16th). More details on that to come! Gabrielle, we were so thrilled you came! We are sorry you had to leave before folks were finished with the game we were in the middle of playing. We hope you try to come again! :)

.Ok, so I am still hoping to be there, but I have to leave early around 6/7pm. I am only bringing a few games, so peeps, if you want to play things, please bring games to play and/or share! I am still planning on doing the gift exchange, so when I post it, please comment if you want to participate. (It's only $5 gifts, directions will explain it all. LOL We hope you join the fun!) I will be online until 10am. If you have a particular game you want me to bring, tell me now! LOL
