Re: [Stavanger-Software-Developers-Meetup] Topic for next SSD talk: Git?

I think we could probably just start with our normal format, 1-2 hours on whatever part of the topic you'd like.

With that said, I'm open to ideas and suggestions from anyone in the group. We've talked about doing multiple sessions on Git, and we could do multiple sessions on game development. We could even consider a longer sort of workshop format if people are interested in that. Everyone should feel free to use this mailing list to discuss these kinds of things.

I have a lot of information from my special cours that I have made for students on the Koszalin Technical University about mobile developing games process, including psyhological aspects of gameplay, production and sheduling process and of course using Unity for build the apps. I have all in polish and some materials in english, so I need some time to prepare everything. Of course it depend of interesting in of people.
I can prepare some assets and an idea of small app/game for people who wants to make small excersizes :)

I think a talk on Unity development would be great. How does later in the year sound, sometime after summer?

Hi, I have some years of experience in PC and mobile (iOS & Android) games. If somebody will be interested, I can share some of my experience in developing process and using Unity3d engine. Of course if somebody wants to create any game or other aplication I am open :)

In the NNUG Stavanger Meetup group we've had a demand for a "git for n00bs" talk and I was thinking of doing that, probably on this side of the summer. Perhaps we could coordinate? I'll do the git talk on a joint meeting on this side of the summer and we'll advertise/promote Bjørn Asle's experience talk after summer?

That sounds great. Once we have an "intro to git" presentation I'd like to have one or two sessions on experiences like yours. I'm not sure how active we'll be during the summer, so maybe we can do that after everyone gets back to Norway.

I could prepare a talk about experience from adopting Git in my current project. Organisational resistance, lessons learned, etc. Not this month, though...

There was a lot of talk at the last meetup about a presentation on git. Git is a big and interesting topic, but there are some people who don't know much about it yet, so I figure we should start with an "Introduction to Git". Is there anyone who will volunteer to put on a talk some time next month? I know we have some pretty experienced git users in the group, so I'm sure we can find someone.

Cheers,
Austin
