Hike Donner Canyon from Town Of Clayton - 6 mile loop hike - Rated Moderate

This event is scheduled to start from the Park across the street from the Post Office in Clayton at 10 am. Free Parking in the lot at 6101 Main St, across the street from the coffee shop "Cup O Joes" . Recommend being there a little early for a quick meet and greet and directions from the trail leaders and we'll get going on this hike.

The Organizers have Discovered a Great little Half Day hike just outside the Town of Clayton that winds up and around the foothills of Mt. Diablo. The route starts on a paved multi purpose pathway that leads from the Town through the sleepy neighborhoods of Clayton. Once you leave the paved pathway that's where the fun begins. You'll be climbing up a fire road till we find a chosen single track for this event that I'm sure will be a hike you'll want to return to.

The Proposed hike is figured for 6 mile round trip and  2 1/2 - 3 hour time on the trail. Approx. 850 feet of climb. This hike is a Flat Moderate in difficulty and we welcome all abilities. Please understand the description of this event and consider your own individual ability to participate.

The Organizers wish to remind all hikers to bring plenty of Water and wear comfortable footwear for hiking on dirt and or wet slippery surfaces. Restrooms and drinking water are available near by.

NOTE:    The Mt. Diablo Park Property is an Animal Protected Area and does Not allow Dogs on the Trails. SORRY !

If the weather is forecast rain this hike will be rescheduled for another time ,keep an eye on the message board for important updates for this event. And Please Update your RSVP so we all get a chance to enjoy these hikes.

Hope you can make this one , Tell a friend !

    Give my space to another.
My asthma is bad this morning. I'm afraid I won't be able to this long hike amidst the dry hills.

Friendly reminder to our hikers that are parking around the Clayton park ,there is a all day parking area located next to 6101 Main St. Across the street from the famous coffee shop "Cup O Joe" Less than a block from the hike Meet up site. Don't want the local businesses to be burdened by the parking our cars in front of their locations .

I signed up a while ago, but haven't been able to join the group yet. I have heard a lot of positive comments about it.
