Special Screening of the" Camino de Santiago "Documentary - Oakland CA

The documentary/movie begins at 7 pm.  Please arrive early.  Look for Meetup members outside of the theater or in the lobby (in case you get there late).  The theater has free parking for patrons in a lot just a half block from the theater.  Patrons may use the Douglas Parking lot right across from ER Transmissions at[masked]th st.   New Parkway patrons may use this lot after 6 pm Mondays - Fridays.

The organizers of the Discovery hikers discovered a special one night screening of the documentary "Walking the Camino, Six Ways to Santiago" and wanted to share this inspiring film about hiking 450 miles across Spain.  Below is a short overview of the film or you can check out the trailer at  caminodocumentary.org/.

Walking the Camino embarks on a journey with six strangers from around the world as they attempt to cross an entire country on foot - with only a backpack, a pair of boots and an open mind. Driven by an inexplicable calling and a grand sense of adventure, each pilgrim throws themselves heart-and-soul into their physical trek to Santiago and, most importantly, their personal journey to themselves.

For those who are not familiar with the Camino, it is a beautiful and moving experience that every hiker would appreciate.

Does anyone want to meet at Lake Merritt at 5pm and walk the lake before the movie?

    April 14, 2014

    • Angel J.

If anyone does want to walk, we can meet at Lake Chalet Seafood bar and Grill 1520 Lakeside Drive Oakland, CA 94612 at 5pm. If for some reason I am stuck in traffic or work and am not there by 5:10 go ahead without me if a group has gathered. I want there to be enough time to walk and get to the movie. I will wait until 5:10 to start. Hope to see you there!
