Midweek Sunset Hike @ Lime Ridge 5+ mile Loop Hike - Rated Moderate

A 6:30 pm. start time at 3800 Valley Vista Rd. A 5 + mile loop hike Rated Moderate difficulty with several somewhat long sections of up and down hill along wide fire trails and some single track dirt trails.

The Organizers have this hike Rated Moderate difficulty however is one of our favorite loops and among the easier of the hikes we regularly complete. If your up to the challenge and want to get a great workout , maybe see a great sunset before we finish. Along with other passionate outdoor enthusiasts give, this one a try !

The view from the ridge is something to see, overall views of the Clayton ,Concord and Walnut Creek neighborhoods and surrounding communities, with the sun setting on the hill's a great photo opportunity.

Also recommended to bring are Sturdy comfortable footwear and enough water for a 2 + hour hike , and a flashlight in case we finish after dark . some of our regular hikers enjoy the use of hiking poles, and don't forget the camera.

NOTE  :  * NOT A DOG HIKE AREA * Lime Ridge open space is an animal protected environmental area and therefore are NOT allowing DOGS in this hiking area.   SORRY!

Friendly reminder also :   Remember to update your RSVP if you think there's a chance you wont be able to make this hike, so your other friends in the group can grab the spot.

Hope you can make this one, we'll look for you on the trail !

Since the weather has gotten warmer I've read on the news of snakes appearing more. I'm just wondering if the route on tonight's hike will require us going through the tall grassy sections. Just curious I am new to this trail / hiking stuff any tips or feed back would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Snakes are more afraid of you than you are of them. You don't have to worry.

The grass along the trail has been cut back for the summer season. Our trail tonight is free of tall grass . As far as Snakes the possibility is greatly reduced when hikers come down the trail as a thundering herd . Don't hike alone for this or many other reasons !!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
