Happy to meet everyone; great way to enjoy Labor Day. Lori and I found Dakota back at Borges Ranch, sitting in the shade. Smart dog! Look forward to next time.

In the near future we'll schedule another venture out to Castle Rock and maybe just maybe we'll get to see those elusive rocks we so passionately seek .

Awesome hike! The trails had a nice variety of up and down terrain, as well as steep uphill and downhill. This was the perfect combination for an excellent cardio workout! I really felt a sense of accomplishment with having successfully completed this hike, especially given the fact that it presented some challenging moments along the way, and also the temperature was very hot. Gee, ya think?! LOL!! I say the whole group deserves a pat on the back for being such great troupers and seeing this hike through to the very end! As always, I enjoyed sharing interesting conversations and lots of laughs with a wonderful group of people! Thank you to Chris for organizing, leading, and watching out for everyone. Also, thank you to Kirk and Jim for helping me get down that steep hill!

Awesome group and leaders! Thanks to those who helped with the big hill and those who hung back with me when the heat became too much. And thanks for sharing the water too, especially Sadie. =) I look forward to doing this one again sometime when it's a bit cooler.

We will be stopping by the Borges Ranch Rest Area to meet up with our other Hike Organizer , Paul and his group coming in from the Walnut Creek access to Shell Ridge . Take a little break ( snack break ,restroom available , maybe a few photos . ) and continue on to our destination , those awesome views from the top looking out over the Famous Castle Rock landmarks ! Plan for 3 plus hours for this hike . This is a DOG friendly hike as well .
