Star Wars Edge of the Empire Beginner Game Demo New Dimension Comics

Fantasy Flight's Re-boot of the Star Wars RPG.

This will be a 4 hour one shot demo game to introduce people to the Beginner game rules set , and also serve as an intro to role-playing for those new to the hobby.

Players from Steel city Gamers that sign up will be expected to mix with players from the store who have shown up for free graphic novel day (who might be complete beginners.)

I'm looking for mature mid-teenage players to older, so if you want to get your responsible kids into gaming, this is a good chance to try it out with them.

Due to the format, there will only be a pool of pre-generated characters available on a first come, first serve basis. No character generation will be done at the table, but I will have a range of types, skills and abilities and backgrounds so everyone that shows up should be able to find something they like.

This will be a nice narrative style system played fast and loose in the way the old 7th Sea, or West End Games D6 was.

I will rely on veteran players of Star Wars RPGs or other games to break out their roleplaying skills and make this something special.

Tasteful Costumes optional. No half naked Wookies with a fur bikini please. I might bring a sound effect prop, and some other things.

Sign up if you'd like to try it out.

People can join from this "Beginner" rules set game, if they like it, to the full "Beta" Campaign Game, if they so desire, but the two are not planned to be linked at this point other than "Both occur in a shared Universe."

I hope I am getting everyone's name right, but special thanks for joining up on this demo game and making this happen to (In seating order from my left) Jeff (Security Medical Droid), Maris (Explorer) , Eric (Scholar), Dale (Scoundrel), Kevin (Technician), and Cade (Wookiee Merc). At times I was laughing so hard at the PC antics that I couldn't run the game as they broke out of Teemo the Hutt's townhome in Mos Shuuta, and madcap bedlam followed. This was definitely a comedy scenario for the most part. A whole lotta fun. Seems like most to all of the players will join the meetup, all had a great time, and thanks for helping me clean up after, there were lots of props and maps and minis and things to handle.

This was a great group, a lot of fun with a brand new system that really lends itself to Narrative style play (my favorite). I'm really eager to continue this game on the 19th.

    Etarnon,
I cannot make it to this event, however I'm very interested in the new StarWars system from FFG if events are run in the future. I've run the Beginner Box myself already, and we had a blast. The Advantage/Threat symbols really push the group to think outside the binary pass/fail mentality. The end result was that action and narrative scenes were unpredictable and exciting.
    Good Luck!
