Race for the Galaxy or Core Worlds Card Games Meetup II

We played four games of Race for the Galaxy (with first expansion) at the meetup on March 2, 2013.  Dave and Matt expressed interest in doing it again sometime soon, possibly adding the second expansion, so I have scheduled a second Race for the Galaxy meetup.  Additionally, I have been informed that the Alien Artifact expansion is currently expected in May 2013, so it might be out by the time of this meetup.

I'd also like to play Core Worlds again sometime and have not even looked at the Galactic Order expansion, so I am open to either on this date, with Race for the Galaxy taking first priority unless no one wants to play it.  I may also schedule another meetup for Core Worlds in June.

Hot lunch, consisting of blue goods, green goods, brown goods, and yellow goods and maybe some other mysterious goods, will be served prior to the game.

Lunch was an unusual combo of Potatoes Au Gratin with Ham and Chicken Stir Fry. It worked out well; not much left-overs. We played a three-player game of Core Worlds. It was good to play Core Worlds as I had not played it in many months, not since I last played with Joe at GASP Day. Can't wait to try the Galactic Order expansion! I thought I was doing well but when the final scores were tallied, I was in distant third (ahem, last) place. Trudy won with 34 points, Joe followed with 25 points, and I trailed along inhaling their radioactive exhaust, finishing with 19 points. After Trudy left, Joe and I broke open 51st State and played a learning game. The rules are printed in squinty small font and they should have spared the dime for one more page of rules, but we figured out the game. I was ahead for much of the game, on the next to last turn, Joe passed me with 25 points to my 23 points. On the last turn, I added 10 points and Joe added 9 points and won the game by one point.

Good morning! Although I am always interested in teaching and playing Race for the Galaxy, and I have only got to play Core Worlds two or three times, and hope to play it more, I would add that I have unopened copies of 51st State and Innovation, neither of which I have ever played, but hope to someday. Both of these games take 2-4 players so they are added as card game options.

Since we are all going to get our quota of burgers and dogs in the coming days, I am sure, I am considering alternatives for lunch tomorrow. I am considering Potatoes Au Gratin with Ham, Tuna Casserole, and/or Chicken Stir Fry for tomorrow lunch. Any preferences?

I have to leave around 6:30 for another commitment. Can I still play?

LOL It would be harder to beat you at games if you did, but I think I could still manage! Tee Hee Hee.
