Steel City Information Security was established in order to bring together people interested in information security. The group meets in order to discuss security trends, share knowledge and expertise, watch presentations and demonstrations of new or changing technologies, andto evaluate the security and privacy measures taken in various offerings.
This is a group is a combination between presentation-based (conference) and discussion-based (unconference) meetings for anybody working in IT security or forensics, or just looking to get to know other people in the area with similar interests. We also have a project-focused track, which is hosted on days and times separate from the traditional track. We are not affiliated with any company and all members attend understanding that this group is completely disassociated with our employers.
Topics include but are not limited to cloud security, web security, penetration testing, and computer forensics, and presentations will be given every month a speaker can be coordinated. Anybody interested in giving a presentation, or who has an interesting topic for discussion, please contact me and we can discuss the details. In the future we are hoping to expand the offering to include security news, podcasts, and more.
We are currently looking for a sponsorship to provide a location and/or funding for our meetings; please let me know if you have any ideas or possibilities. Feel free to give me your thoughts and input about this group and I look forward to meeting all of you,
