NOTE THE TIME CHANGE: DUE TO FOOTBALL WE START AT 5:30
How about a “Cowboy theme” for the September 8th Meetup at Hambone’s
The cowboy type songs are as follows:
Down In the Valley
Deep in the Heart of Texas
Red River Valley
Non-365 songs (copy from the Alphabetical song list or from "Files"):
I Ride and Old Paint
Ghost Riders in the Sky
I’m an Old Cowhand
Don’t Fence Me In
Back In the Saddle
Ghost Chickens in the Sky (just for fun)
As usual we will start off with a half dozen or so songs from 365 and then move on to the Cowboy songs. We will save the last half hour for songs of your choosing from 365 or from the Meetup list and an “open mic” time for those who have something to share with the group.
We will welcome any “Cowboy Song” suggestions in addition to those listed above, be sure to let us know.
Ukulele players of all skill levels are invited to come and Jam at Hambone's Pub. Come to sing along, or even just to watch. These Jam sessions will repeat on the 2nd Sunday of each month, so mark your calendars now.
We start to play at 5 pm and continue until 7 pm. Come early and sample Hambone's menu; meet other players over a beverage or just tune up. Plan to arrive by 4 pm (or earlier) in order to finish eating before play starts. Parking is free on Sundays and there is a city lot across the street from Hambone's.
The format of these Jams includes starting with easier songs from "The Daily Ukulele:365 Songs," playing additional "365" songs and then moving into the leader's play list. Participant recommendations are played, along with any new songs you want to present.
Bring the "Daily" book, a music stand, and 20 copies of any music you want to play. The goal is to have fun, improve your uke skills and meet people with a similar interest.
A play list will be published here prior to the Jam. If possible, you should print any songs that you don't already have.
Sign up now to attend this "Jam." See you at Hambone's.
