I’m looking forward to the jam at HAMBONE’S on October 13. We should all be ready to laugh and have some more ukulele fun after the workshop and concert on Saturday.
The theme of this jam is “Songs of the 40’s” and I have tried to choose songs that are familiar to many of us and not too difficult to play. There are YouTube versions of all of these songs but not always in the key on our chord chart. Sooooo let’s have some 40’s fun.
We will start with some easier warm-up songs from 365 and then swing, strum, sing and laugh our way through this list:
Songs from 365: Please bring your copy of "The Daily Ukulele, 365.."
I’ll Be Seeing You
This Land Is Your Land
Deep In The Heart of Texas
Non 365 songs: All Available for individual tune printing on SCU Meetup site under "Files" or "Alphabetical Song List." Or you can print all at once HERE
Chattanooga Choo Choo
Swing On A Star
Don’t Fence Me In
Pistol Packin’ Mama
As Time Goes By
I’m Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover
Smoke, Smoke That Cigarette
Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree
We will finish up our jam with your choices either from 365 or from our Alphabetical Song List. Remember, this is your jam & your favorites are important. Let’s all strum, sing and have a ball. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Ukulele players of all skill levels are invited to come and Jam at Hambone's Pub. Come to sing along, or even just to watch. These Jam sessions will repeat on the 2nd Sunday of each month, so mark your calendars now.
We start to play at 5 pm and continue until 7 pm. Come early and sample Hambone's menu; meet other players over a beverage or just tune up. Plan to arrive by 4 pm (or earlier) in order to finish eating before play starts. Parking is free on Sundays and there is a city lot across the street from Hambone's.
The format of these Jams includes starting with easier songs from "The Daily Ukulele:365 Songs," playing additional "365" songs and then moving into the leader's play list. Participant recommendations are played, along with any new songs you want to present.
Bring the "Daily" book, a music stand, your printed song book and 20 copies of any music you want to add. The goal is to have fun, improve your uke skills and meet people with a similar interest.
Sign up now to attend this "Jam." See you at Hambone's.
