Beginner, Novice, Just Interested in Ukulele

Are you uncomfortable or overwhelmed about playing ukulele with better players? Do you need a little encouragement and practice in chord fingering? Are you just interested in playing the ukulele and wondered what it is all about? Here is an opportunity to learn ukulele basics and build skills with other beginners. This is not intended to be a replacement for ukulele lessons, but more a chance to play and feel good. Speaking of lessons, Blake Mohler has a 7 week beginner class starting on September 26 for only $70. Check with WSCC for details. See "Beginner Ukulele" at http://wsccpgh.org/classes.htm .

If you don't have a ukulele yet, there will be some extras for you to use. Songs we play will be very easy (typically 1 - 3 chords). Ukulele basics, such as tuning and strumming will be covered. Any questions you have will be addressed.

Music and other handouts can be provided, but if you have a copy of "The Daily Ukulele, 365 Songs For Better Living," by Liz and Jim Beloff, please bring it along. Not required, but if you have a music stand or an electronic tuner, please bring them also. Note: If possible, could you download and print 7 pages of information and music for this class. This can be found as a PDF HERE

This Meetup will be initially offered and then continued only if we have enough participants to cover the cost of the room. Since WSCC charges for room use, we must assess a $3 per person fee, payable at the meetup.

Contact Jack through the Meetup Site if you have any questions, need directions, etc.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
