Feed The Homeless Downtown

We'll be joining Northland Church as they prepare and serve lunch to the homeless in the heart of downtown, in the parking lot of St. George Orthodox Church. Set up starts at 10:30AM. If you can, bring some food to share. (Bringing stuff is not required.) If you bring hot food, please bring bowls and spoons for serving. You can also bring other things that the homeless always need: clothes, athletic shoes, new socks and underwear, toiletries, insect repellant, backpacks, blankets, hand towels, rain ponchos... You can also bring Bibles for distribution. For any of the donated items, please wait until everyone is there before distributing the items. This feeding happens rain or shine, so be prepared for the weather.

Had an awesome time, as did the kids. They asked when they could go back again, so we'll be heading back down weekend after next.

Sounds good - I don't have a shirt so...I guess have people look for the guy with the Mt. Dew baseball cap and I'll remember to wear that on Saturday.

If I bring food, how much should I bring.. how many people are expected? What kind of food would you recommend?

there are quite a lot of people... Dinner items: meats, fried chicken, lasagna, chili, mashed potatoes, casseroles, macaroni, spaghetti, rolls.
Also: sandwiches, snacks, desserts, fruit, cases of water, pull top canned goods, etc. Thanks!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
