Guys, I have been part of the Kickstarter campaign for Dragon's Hoard (http://www.dragonshoardthecardgame.com/). I have received three copies of the game, as two were going as a gift to my friends, but I found out that the shipping costs will cost me more than the actual game. So I decided to ask if anyone was interested and would like to buy one (or both) of the copies or want to trade it with a game they don't enjoy/like anymore. I am not looking to make any profit out of it, just feel it is a waste for them to be sitting on my shelf collecting dust.

Both copies come also with the kickstarter exclusive Unicorn cards. You can find more info about it here:

How much did dragons hoard cost you, out of interest? I watched a video of it online it seemed an ok, albeit very simple card game. But simple is good sometimes, when short of time etc

I wouldn't mind trying it next time youre around Sarantis, it probably isnt a long game!

It cost me 15£ for each and the play time is around half an hour to forty minutes, but can be adjusted by setting the goal lower. I will bring them again next time, in case anyone else is also interested!

Played a rather involved game of Liftoff so 80's and so typical of the later Taskforce games, not quite as slick and polished as modern games dodgy banknotes and cards. and a lot of maths, wow! I had the biggest budget at the end running the Chinese space programme but unfortunately I had broken all sorts of rules one of which was not developing space suits!! then we played Timeline tsting our knowledge of dates until the closure at 10.00pm very enjoyable night.

Re: Spies etc in LiftOff. You might want to check out 1969 (http://www.boardgameg...). It's a straight-forward worker placement game with a moon-race theme, but it does have spies.

Cool, I'll keep my eye on that one, looks far far more accessible.

Does anyone have a copy (or has played) conquest of nerath?

    March 12, 2014

    • Paul H.

Not really. Nice figures with a decent board and components but plays a lot like a slightly more involved version of Risk. Good with the kids but would not hit the table often with a more adult group.

I thought there might be something suspect about the praise I'd heard for it. Kept seeing it on sale fairly cheap last year and yet still, those saying it was good didn't seem to be rushing out to buy it!

We had a game of Heroes of the multiverse, where the team of 5 heroes comfortably beat the automated baddy and consumed a significant amount of mini donuts (and I notably helped a great deal towards both of those). We then played Cyclades with the Hades expansion. With the 22:00 deadline looming both Tim Junior and myself had the chance of winning during that round (if we'd have both achieved the victory conditions then gold was the tie-breaker, which I would have won marginally).

Hmmm, stopping the Hellenistic types might run into legal trouble - EU and all that. Showing Spies, Cylons and Children the door, though.....well thats just common sense, really. Pretty sure it was wrote it into the club rules originally - in the mystical days when the Creator was still around. He lives on in the occasional comment and a cherished, half remembered game of Netrunner....... but now the Office Ninjas think they're in charge anything goes! ;-)

Nerdywell is a family joke it should of course be Near do Well which probably has it's own Wiki page. Unfortunately opportunities for foul play were sadly lacking in liftoff the event cards scuppered Pauls launches most times but with typical Soviet "cold war" gusto blamed the US & the chinese, thank goodness times have changed!?!

4 of us played Lords of Waterdeep with both parts of the Skullport expansion. It was good - the expansion adds variety and a corruption mechanism where you have to balance using uber-spaces with also collecting skulls that are give negative points at the end - the more skulls taken the higher the penalty per skull. In the end I peaked too early! Left myself with not much to do heading toward the final round but came up with a bit of a plan.....only for Tim to scupper it by blocking all four spots I wanted before I could move a meeple! Final scoring, I did okay, watched Trish rush up then, when corruption was accounted for, fall back, then suddenly Tim's counter was in front of me. Some arcane shenanigan by his mages I think but before we could react a horn sounded and Kathie, with a smile and a wave, came sailing past both of us for the win! Myself and Trish comforted ourselves with the excellent company at the rear of the field......good fun.

Mark, what's going on the with Asda dates? Theoretically we were supposed to be alternating between "Asda Thursday" and "Pingreen Friday" every two weeks, but we appear to have gone out of sync... We had pingreen this week, then asda next week and then 3 weeks to the next pingreen! Noooooo! 3 weeks? Without games? Nightmare!

re dates: because months aren't all same length and pin green is first Friday (rather than 1st month or whatever) we can't always find a even mid-point between pin green meetings. Unless I just got too confused staring at calendars.

However, it's nice to see that people are proactively arranging things at houses or whatever to fill in the gaps.

Also remember Sunday is always available every week for those not tied down at weekends.
