Played Mage Knight, hopefully Chris & Shaun got something out of the experiance. Chris got the most fame and Shaun suffered cause he had a pile of wounds: -15, ouch!!

Spent a bit of time sorting out the components to Mage Knight today as they got a bit mixed up during the scramble to pack away and I fancy a go at it myself again. Have to say I now realise that a) I don't put enough effort into the games I try to teach and b) if I want my games pimped I'll lend them to Paul! Ta for all the lovely laminated extras, teaching aids and player summaries! Don't fancy borrowing a few more things do you.....;-)

      Erm.....yes....of course......ahem.

      Anyone have/played this? http://boardgamegeek....

It's hands down my favorite rail game, though I played it on a pc-adaptation.

Glad you enjoyed it despite joining John's team and being a filthy spy in one round of Resistance!

Good night. Got completely destroyed by Andrew in Cyclades who must have been quite frustrated when Duncan snuck in on a Pegasus for the win like a ninja. Mental note - food is good, philosophers not so good.

    • Tony A.

Sir, I am surprised it has taken you this long in life to realise food > philosophy. I would, however, keep a close eye on your weight in the coming weeks.........

Mage Knight was good, it took quite a while to get the hang of it though!

It is a bit of a brain twister that one - it has lots of different bits that all fit together perfectly but not really intuitively. Its a bit like having a load of animal bits and coming up with a duck billed platypus - amazing thing but a bit hard to get your head around!

    March 7

    • Tony C.

I'll bring Fresco, Lancaster, Amyitis, etc...just in case....

      March 7

    • Shaun C.

ill probably be quite late, i might swing by quickly though to observe!

      March 7

  • john

REMINDER: If you have to cancel last minute please un-rsvp (so we don't sit around holding up a game to see if might just be late). And if you're going to be late please just put a note in here to say roughly how late (so we don't all start a bunch of 4 hour long games 10 minutes before you turn up)

Damnit really wanted to make this especially if there's a Mage Knight session happening but it looks like a good friend is having leaving drinks on that day. Grr.

    March 3

    • Tony A.

It's not a bad idea - a few Karate sessions and I can pretty much guarantee you'll get to play whatever game you want at SBC! And you'll probably win...........sir.

    • Chris Y.

Just to confirm - I AM coming, so save a spot for me please Paul.

      March 7

  • Paul H.

How about a Mage Knight teach-in with the intro scenario, I should be able do this if Tony A is willing? 4 players only no expansions.

Yep, played it once at the club with Tim, Trish, David and Kathie. It is as "dry" as a desert but I thought it was very engaging and a really clever, elegant design (horrible gaming buzzword/description I know but it does fit in this case).

      Thanks Tony - looks interesting!
