Good meetup. Some stunning area control and cult track action from ster took her right from last to first in terra mystica. We also played cash n guns which was fun and another word game beginning with a which was good fun to end the evening. Not sure which wad most mentally taxing, terra mystica or the word game!

    September 6

    • Tony A.

Nope, pasted us from the word go. ;-)

    • Paul H.

In that game you need to not go "oomph, ooh er mm ....dog!" By then the other person has said their word.

note to Mark: 14 meeples attended, 2 new, so 12 paying meeples minus me as I only turned up to collect the money (OMG I'm turning into you!). So that's 11x£2 = £22 collected.

The next step is sporting a beard, then the final transformation into pure energy.

      September 6

    • john

I'm having trouble with the beard part, I've only ever managed to get as far as 'several day old stubble'... But the pure energy thing sounds easy.

Played the co-op game Robinson Crusoe, I was the explorer, I have to say I wasn't enthralled but then it was the first time. We had lots to do building shelter gathering food & building things like tools to survive. Unfortunately Adam, the cook, died so we lost, :-( then played a word game called Ammonia which I fumbled to think of things like pets playwrights and panindrones! Good fun though. Very good evening though thanks all for coming.

As well as terra mystica i will bring puerto rico. That way john can stop moaning (assuming he finds some people to play it with).

    September 5

    • Tony C.

Ok - I'll bring lots if other stuff and I'm sure we'll balance numbers, etc. :)

      September 5

    • john

Wow, I hardly feel the need to bring my massive games collection with me now... ;-)

      September 5

  • Daniel P.

Anyone up for terra mystica? My brand new shiny copy arrived on Monday so I am obviously keen.

    • Simon J.

No, we'll be there for the start :-)

      September 5

    • Shaun C.

      September 5

  • Trish C.

I'm up for Trains and Glass road... or any game that needs numbers made up!!!

    September 5

  • Rob B.

Even though I'll be playing Terra Mystica, Im throwing, Trains and Stations, Manhattan project +expansion, Seasons +2 expansions, One night ultimate werewolf and Glass road in my bag too if anyone wants to play any of those.

    September 5

  • Tony C.

Must try to make this - it's been a while now! Terra Mystica was good the one time I've played it, and I have plenty of other games I could bring....

The box art for that makes it look like a weird sexytime vampire RPG from the 90s.. Or something..

      September 5

  • David J.

Work willing I will be ther. I have a couple of games I am desperate to try if any one is interested - Robinson Crusoe Adventures on a cursed island, Thunderstone dragon spire, and Betrayal at house on the hill'. Will also bring King of Tokyo and Smash up if anyone wants a quick blast.

    September 4

    • Mark H.

Damn, I'd really like to play Robinson Crusoe but not going to have anyone to babysit tonight :(
Will have to remember you have it for the once-a-year time I actually turn up for a meetup :)

      September 5

    • john

The years running out Mark, you haven't got long left to make your appearance. And remember it only counts if you stay for more than 30mins... ;-)

Is everyone else being deluged by "See you at Pin Green" e-mails from Meetup?

    August 29

    • Tim G.

I've now got 5 "Sunday: Can you make "Weekly Sunday @ Asda Stevenage"?" e-mails as well. What has John done to the system?

      September 1

    • Tony A.

Ha ha - you beat me to it! I was going to blame him as well. With great super powers comes great responsibility.......(I only got one Sunday at Asda email btw).

Unfortunately we're at a gaming weekend in Bristol, so can't make it along!

Rather annoyingly I will be in a tent in Gloucestershire so will find it difficult to attend. This is annoying as, for some reason, I thought this would be the Friday before we went away and now I have Dead of Winter which I really wanna play! Waaaaaaahhhhhhhh.......(you should know that I'm stamping my feet too). Have fun everyone. No.....honest....have (sniff) fun. Don't s'pose anyone fancies a drive to Gloucestershire for a game on the Saturday do they? :-(

    August 24

    • Tony A.

You play your own games, John. You must have an extensive library of at least, ooh...three games by now? :-P

      August 25

    • Tim G.

      Four.... Three...... Two......

The alignment of the planets has meant these have started clashing with the Bedford alternate Fridays again. I'll be back when Tau Ceti is in Orion (or something).

I'm pretty sure I might actually attend a friday soon... Unfortunately the other half still works in Scotland. And although I have more shortbread than I could shake a haggis at, I'd quite like a week off being a taxi so I can come and lose at some games! :-)

    August 19

    • Chris Y.

I'm sure we can help you out with the shortbread!

I have a sword fighting card game called Audatia I backed on kickstarter years ago arriving soon, I'll bring it if anyone wants to take a look. I used to do sword fighting at a club, so it perked my interest.

I think to some degree its an 'educational game' but it looks like you mainly just use combinations of cards to kick and stab the shit out of someone until you can finish them.
Looks really quick too, 20 mins max.

    • Rob B.

I'll play anything I'll throw some stuff in a bag as a backup but really want to try some new things :)

After playing this with Sarantis last time, I immediately went and bought Smash up plus one expansion if anyone's up for this?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
