On Saturday, November 23 the Stockholm R User Group (SRUG) in cooperation with the Swedsh Pensions Agency invites you to participate at a one-day R hackathon in Stockholm. A hackathon is a great place to meet similarly-minded people with a passion for R coding and development.
During the day a number of talks and workshops will be held on different topics. There will also be a Hacking Space available for free hacking, talking and socializing. If you wish to arrange an impromptu workshop with fellow participants, a number of smaller workshop rooms will be available for that purpose as well.
During the day lectures and workshops will be held on the following topics:
- Building your own package in R
- Working with data visualization in R
- Version management and social coding in RStudio with Git and Github
The schedule might be subject to change and will be completed as time draws nearer the event date.
Participation and registration
Participation is free. You are welcome to come and leave as you see fit during the day. Registration is required in advance by sending an email to [masked].
You are free to use the day for any kind of hacking you like. But if you are interested in data analysis, you might be interested to hear that the Swedish Pensions Agency will be providing a number of data sets with real-world data that have hitherto not been thoroughly analysed. If you want to feel like a data pioneer or are simply interested in crunching big data sets in search of interesting results this might be for you!
Venue: Pensionsmyndigheten, Hornsgatan 168, Stockholm (Subway station: Hornstull)
Time: Saturday, November 23, 10am - 6pm
Food and drinks: There are coffee machines on site, and several nearby restaurants offer reasonably priced lunch menus. We offer the possibility to pre-order lunch catering (a menu will be posted as the event draws nearer). You can also bring your own food if you wish since there are several microwave ovens available.
