Thursday Night Gaming

We're trying out a second time and venue to see how it works for everyone. Gamma Ray Games is letting us use their upstairs game room (thanks Eric!), square in the heart of Capitol Hill. Sad because you haven't been able to play Saturdays? Now's your chance. We've got two nights scheduled (Mar 25 & Apr 22), with more to come if this works for folks. And yes, we're still doing Saturdays. This is
more gaming. Same rules as always: RSVP if you're interested, and we'll discuss what game(s) to play once we know who's coming. New folks are are always welcome, whether you've played a story game (or any roleplaying game) or not. Everybody who RSVPs gets to play.

Good venue, good time. I'll post on What We Played when I have a chance.

Gamma was great. I was even able to place a special order for a copy of Shock. It was no hassle at all, and I expect it won't be long until I hear they have it in. I liked the gaming room and tables. We even had a private bathroom. I love Wayward but it's a nice change to be able to bring your own food. Now I can plan to bring snacks to share!

Great turnout and the Gamma Ray space worked well

I think Gamma Ray worked out pretty well!

You missed some good games trellis! We'll have some "What We Played" threads in the forums pretty soon. Come on out next time.

Really sorry I couldn't make it tonight. I'm in Columbia City so these Thursday nights on Cap Hill can work for me. Look forward to next one.

Sorry to hear that Caroline. Get better and we'll see you next time!

I suspect Lady Blackbird works best with 6 people - the GM plus all 5 pre-made characters. I really don't know about GHOST/ECHO, having never played it. As for Metal Opera, the group needs to form a "rock band" plus GM, but the mechanics of the game literally make it so that adding more people makes the game take longer to finish. I would recommend max 3 players plus GM, and you could even do 2 plus GM.

(Wicked Age is probably minimum 3+GM to work well. You need room for mixed conflicts)

Same thing for Shock: since Susan's played it now, she could probably facilitate a group with rules backup now and then. Tandem Shock!

The _craziest_ idea is to break up into multiple pairs for Mars Colony. Each game is about 2 hours, so you play and then everyone shuffles and plays with someone else. It's easy to learn and we could brief the rules as a group. But we don't have to do that tonight.

In a Wicked Age sounds fun to me. And I still want to give Shock a try. Looks like I might be running something though! (Although GHOST/ECHO and Metal Opera are both very short games and don't really require preparation, so anyone could really run either of them. They're both free online, too!)

Oh man, Mars Colony. You did such a good job selling it last week, that's very tempting.

I'm excited about whatever y'all are will ing to run. GHOST/ECHO sounds neat.

With exactly 4 I'm thinking Polaris (but that looks unlikely). The Pool & In A Wicked Age are also on my short list, but pulling out Shock again could also be awesome. With only 2 I would definitely do Mars Colony.

I can bring GHOST/ECHO and Lady Blackbird again, and Metal Opera (http://www.harlekin-maus.com/games/metalopera/metalopera.html) is always a possibility. I am also printing off some character sheets for Don't Rest Your Head. Is there anything in particular that anyone has been itching to play or run?

Looks like a nice turn out tonight. We'll probably split into two games so everyone has maximum participation.
