Playtest Story Games

Want to playtest a story game? This is the night for you (the first Tuesday of each month to be exact). Bring a game you want to playtest or just bring yourself to play other people's games.

The cardinal rule is that if you bring a game, do your best to make sure it's something you'll be happy to sit down and play. The goal is to playtest, not redesign games on the fly. For answers to other exciting questions like "how do I know my game is ready?" and "will my game get played?" see the playtesting discussion thread.

Warning: Games you playtest may have unforeseen yet fatal, fun-crushing flaws. Hopefully they'll be awesome, but heck, it's playtesting. Satisfaction not guaranteed.

To whoever edits things like this, the playtesting discussion thread link should go to

Right now it's linking to a storygamesseattle domain that may have been transferred to the meetup subdomain for SGS at some point but for now the link is 404-ing.

Meetup got DDOS'ed yesterday, so a lot of things are still screwed up.

Oh, I didn't realize that was a DDOS issue. I thought maybe something got shifted. Thanks.

No special skills required for this, right?

No - just a willingness to work with things that may not be at their best yet, and maybe talk a bit about them afterwards.

Been a while since I could make this meet-up! Looking forward to it, though I won't be bringing a game to playtest. This time... (Rest assured I'll come with dice, paper, writing utensils, etc.)

Awesome - It'll be great to have you there! We've been testing bunch of really strong work lately, and have had more designs than we can play, so don't sweat not bringing a game. Looking forward to Tuesday!

Alas, I may not be able to make it after all. :( Will update my RSPV (or not) accordingly when I know.
