When: Sep 30
Setting: An unspecified Sanatorium sometime in the 1950’s
Jobe as “Dr. Stefan Coen”, the Psychologist and occult practitioner
Adrienne as “Benjamin Lloyd” the hospital orderly
Greg as “’Captian’ Malorie Fillmore”, the senile elderly patient
In the first scene, during a dark and blustery night, Benjamin Lloyd finds himself unsatisfied in his current position. He expresses his desire to quit his position at the sanatorium to Dr. Coen, who talks the orderly down by explaining that they are short-staffed for the holidays.
Meanwhile, outside in the courtyard “Captian” Fillmore is attempting to woo a young woman named “Sal”… except she is nowhere to be found. Unable to find her, Malorie begins to search the Sanatorium grounds, where he runs into Dr. Coen, who attempts to explain to the old man that “Sal” has been gone for quite some time. Malorie accuses Dr. Coen of stealing the young woman away from him, and there is a minor altercation in which the orderly (Benjamin) gets involved, and “accidently” shoves Dr. Coen into the bushes.
Shortly afterwards Benjamin comes face to face with the first Zombie of the evening, while the “Captian” stumbles into evidence of Dr. Coen’s occult involvement (and accidentally disturbs the Dr. warding sigil). Further altercations ensue between the Doctor and the old man, as a result of which the old man gets locked in the basement.
Dr. Coen then encounters Benjamin down in the mortuary. The latter is stricken with remorse over his part in an unspecified dark ritual involving “Sal” and is now convinced that the only option is to incinerate the corpses. During the ensuing altercation, the corpse of “Sal” returns from the dead.
Escaping from the basement, “Captain” Malorie again confronts Dr. Coen over the disappearance of young “Sal”, and is nearly killed during the conflict. Finally, Dr. Coen invokes dark magic, empowering Malorie with dark energy and a large sword in order to combat the now rallying zombie horde.
The two then join Benjamin back outside in the courtyard, where the orderly has tied the zombified “Sal” to a steak and is about to set fire to her. Malorie, convinced that Benjamin is also acting out of confused love for “Sal”, disables the orderly and frees the woman (zombie). Malorie then beckons to the freed “Sal” and pleads for her to make her choice amongst the three men so they can stop quarreling for her affection, to which “Sal” reveals that she is capable of speech, and proceeds to devour the downed Benjamin (in a move that Malorie misinterprets as her professing her love to the orderly).
Malorie and Dr. Coen then retreat to Dr. Coen’s office, where the old man attempts to comfort the doctor over their mutual lost love. When Dr. Coen invokes additional Dark Magic to protect against the zombies, Malorie attempts to intervene and fails. Still convinced that the doctor is suffering from a broken heart, Malorie leaves to go be with his friends Benjamine and “Sal” (who promptly devour him).
The Trio of Zombies (Benjamin, “Sal” and Malorie) return to confront Dr. Coen, who summons a dark unicorn(!) in a failed attempt to escape. The Doctor is subsiquently captured by the zombies, who tie him up in a strait jacket and begin a miss-guided attempt to cure him of his (non-existent) heartbreak. Treatment includes an injection of Zombie blood, (which Dr. Coen counters by knawing off his own arm, possessing it with dark magic, and naming it Cindy).
Eventually the Zombies conclude that the best treatment for Dr. Coen’s hearbreak is to get him out of the Sanatorium, so he (and Cindy) are loaded into a wheelbarrow for a fieldtrip down to the seaside. Along the way they pass through the nearest town, which has been devastated by the zombie outbreak, its residents now zombified… going about their normal day to day business.
Down on the Pier, Malorie and Dr. Coen have a heart to heart talk. In which the former eventually convinces the good doctor to give in and join them. Once Infected, Dr. Coen proceeds to spew forth his own entrails, at the end of which is the fetus of a human-dark-unicorn hybrid (deemed the Nero-corn) which will rise and lord over the new era (of zombies).
Personal favorite quote:
Dr. Coen: Am… Am I the last human survivor?
Malorie: No no no, there are a few other humans left fighting. But don’t let that define who you are as a person. Be who you want to be…

Thanks for the write-up Greg! This was a blast. I love how Malorie evolved from this lonely, slightly doddering old dude to a calm, quietly authoritative zombie. Even his health improved! "My hip doesn't bother me at all anymore." Also, the demon craziness was so awesome. I was completely unprepared for the appearance of the black unicorn. Even more so for the Necro-corn. Fantastic ending.
I think we whipped this baby out in less than two hours. We weren't trying to be fast: two of us just died pretty quickly and the zombie advances fast with only three players.
(FYI I edited the subject to correct the name of the game, so future generations won't google Zombie Theatre and wonder what the heck game you guys were playing…)
