February Meetup: Caitlin Burns presents JURASSIC PARK SLOPE

When a group of urban hipsters gets caught up in a whirlwind of Mesozoic fury, it’ll take more than PBR and vinyl records to get them out of Brooklyn alive.

COME, WATCH AND PARTICIPATE IN THIS LIVE TRANSMEDIA NARRATIVE

It is a new narrative media experiment, where walking tours of Brooklyn are intermingled with smart phone applications, traditional short film narrative, public art, music/dance live event experiences, and DIY how-to’s. With social media and fan participation at the core of the endeavor the creators will trek across the jungles of Hipsterdom, crafting a transmedia tale that dares to ask the question: “Just how many hipsters could a T-Rex eat?”

Combining the awesome power of live performance, online response, streaming video, social media and web-installations, Jurassic Park Slope is taking over February’s NYC Transmedia Meetup with a interactive experience designed to illustrate the potential for Transmedia Launch Platforms and how they can be applied to independent film, social issue campaigns, politics, local business advertising and sponsorship and hilarious comedy done on a dime.

Come for the Hipster-Eating Dinosaurs, stay for a conversation with Caitlin Burns, Transmedia Producer at Starlight Runner Entertainment about the ins and outs of independent Transmedia Campaigns and her years of experience creating campaigns for the biggest names in the Entertainment Industry.

really neat to see Jurassic Park Slope take shape right before one's eyes, and the discussion afterward was inspiring for those who hope to produce a transmedia project from the ground up. Many thanks to Caitlin and crew!

Loved it. It's great to be able to witness a transmedia project from its first public exposure. Good learning experience and a unique community experience, too. My first themed meetup, and my first time at the MurmurCo/Basik offices. Great job, Mike and Aina.
