TOPIC DESCRIPTION
_________________________________

Screening of Visions of Utopia Part II followed by Q&A and discussion.

Intentional Community is an inclusive term for ecovillages, cohousing, residential land trusts, communes, student co-ops, urban housing cooperatives, alternative communities, and other projects where people strive together with a common vision.

A companion piece to the Communities Directory, Part Two of this video documentary features profiles of ten diverse communities. Visions of Utopia is a great way to experience a sampling of community life "up close." You can see and hear community members tell their stories in their own words. Volume One was produced and edited by Geoph Kozeny, a veteran community networker, author, and former FIC board member. Though Geoph died before he could complete the editing of Part Two, FIC has completed that work with his blessing.

The featured communities in Part Two are as follows:

* Catholic Worker's House (San Antonio TX)
* Community Alternatives & Fraser Common Farm (Vancouver & Aldergrove BC)
* The Farm (Summertown TN)
* Ganas (Staten Island NY)
* Goodenough (Seattle WA)
* Hearthaven (Kansas City MO)
* Miccosukee Land Co-op (Tallahassee FL)
* N Street Cohousing (Davis CA)
* Remote Hamlet (CA)
* Sandhill Farm (Rutledge MO)

ABOUT FELLOWSHIP FOR INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY (FIC)
_____________________________________________________________

http://fic.ic.org/...

The Fellowship for Intentional Community (FIC) nurtures connections and cooperation among communitarians and their friends. We provide publications, referrals, support services, and sharing opportunities for a wide range of intentional communities, cohousing groups, ecovillages, community networks, support organizations, and people seeking a home in community.

Intentional Communities have for many centuries been places where idealists have come together to create a better world. Although there are thousands of intentional communities in existence today, and many others in the formative stages, most people are unaware of them or the roots from which they spring. The Fellowship is increasing public awareness of existing and newly forming communities. We offer information and referrals for those who are actively seeking, or simply curious about, alternate lifestyles for themselves and their families.

The Online Communities Directory is part of the Intentional Communities website, a project of the Fellowship for Intentional Community.

Intentional Community Website

This web site serves the growing communities' movement, providing resources for finding a community home and creating more community in your life.

Online Communities Directory

If you are looking for an intentional community, ecovillage, cohousing, commune, co-op, or other cooperative living arrangement, browse through our community lists (alphabetic, geographic, or by type of community), look at our maps, or search our database. You can filter your search on many key characteristics of each community such as location, size, etc.
