Many of you have followed our recent dream project helping Army Vet, Rescue Squad leader, father and friend to many, James Steelman. All of you have helped tremendously with your support and encouragement. James had some important task he has wanted done so his community could be a little nicer. But with his leg amputation, four heart attacks and now a fifth, he has feared he would never see it through. We, at DoingMyPart, felt the need to step in and help a man who did his part for our country and for countless individuals who he rescued using the Jaws of Life device over the course of his 16 year career.
Nearing completion of the project, James felt compelled to do his part by wanting to donate a quadraplegic chair to a young person. We agreed and offered to help. In doing so, together we reached out to the Conover Special Education School. So we are here to announce the up coming'James Steelman/DoingMyPart Western Day at the Conover Special Education School'.We have aligned with a horse Wrangler with a heart for children. Cornelius McJunkins will bring about five horses to the school and share his heart and knowledge in a fun presentation of horsemanship. Many studies have shown a unique unknown force at work between special needs children and horses. A connection that for moments at a time have helped these children to achieve greater depths of awareness and education. It is our hope that Western Day will be a fun-filled time for all and the beginning of a long relationship with the warm loving staff and children of the school.
Join us on October 22nd in Conover, NC.
