Nearly four years ago, a small group of people set out on a mission -- to help the homeless community in Charlotte. While the mission and volunteer opportunities have changed over the years, the goal remains the same.
Every other Sunday, a group of dedicated volunteers take to the streets of Uptown Charlotte with one goal in mind -- to make a difference in the lives of the homeless.
The items that help this volunteer opportunity to run smoothly include:
Drinks- Bottled water, Juice, Gatorade etc.
Fresh Fruit- Bananas, Oranges, Apples etc.
Individually wrapped snacks- Chips, Granola Bars, Crackers, Cookies etc.
These are just suggestions, if you have other ideas you would like to bring, please do.... we have had people make chili, pancakes or even bring burgers from McDonalds or sandwhiches from Subway to pass out.
All items brought, will be passed out on the streets to those who need them.
When signing up to volunteer, please keep in mind that we depend on your volunteer efforts, and if you do not show up we are often left shorthanded without the needed supplies for our homeless friends.
We will meet in the front parking lot of 618 N college street. There is parking in front the building, we will meet by the double doors. Then gather the supplies brought by everyone and hit the streets to pass everything out to our homeless friends!
Additionally, this is a very adult-oriented volunteer opportunity. Please keep this in mind when signing up to participate.
Thank you and we look forward to volunteering with you!
