Rust and Bone, Thursday, March 28 @ 8:55 starring Marion Cotillard

I plan to attend and if anyone would like to join, that would be great.
stories intersect and diverge, they navigate a world where strength, beauty, youth and blood are commodities—but where trust, truth, loyalty and love cannot be bought and sold, and courage comes in many forms. In French with English Subtitles.

If you have not been to The Belcourt before, you need to get a parking ticket for your vehicle from the machine by the sidewalk or you may be ticketed by security as non-Belcourt attendees using The Belcourt parking lot pay a parking charge. You will need the code for the parking machine. It can be obtained when you buy your ticket on site from the ticket. It is also printed on your ticket if you buy it online.

Description from Belcourt site:

Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts) finds himself with a five-year-old child on his hands. Sam (Armand Verdure) is his son, but he hardly knows him. Homeless, penniless and friendless, Ali takes refuge with his sister Anna (Corinne Masiero) in Antibes, in the south of France. There things improve immediately. She puts them up in her garage, she takes the child under her wing , and the weather is glorious.

Ali, a man of formidable size and strength, gets a job as a bouncer in a nightclub. He comes to the aid of Stephanie (Marion Cotillard) during a nightclub brawl. Aloof and beautiful, Stephanie seems unattainable, but in his frank manner Ali leaves her his phone number anyway.

Stephanie trains orca whales at Marineland. When a performance ends in tragedy, a call in the night again brings them together. When Ali sees her next, Stephanie is confined to a wheel chair—she has lost her legs and quite a few illusions. Ali's direct, unpitying physicality becomes Stephanie's lifeline, but Ali too is transformed by Stephanie's tough resilience. And Stephanie comes alive again. As their stories intersect and diverge, they navigate a world where strength, beauty, youth and blood are commodities—but where trust, truth, loyalty and love cannot be bought and sold, and courage comes in many forms.

I think Forest mentioned that it was by a band called "Bon Iver". Although I fell like a "bon vivant" seeing a late movie on a week night :)

Good group for sure and I for one will be coming to a lot more Meetups. As to the last song, mesmerizing, and I think it is closer to Bon Iver where the "I" is pronounced with a "E." Forest nailed it as John and I trudged through the French credits only to come up empty. When joining the group in the lobby, Forest mentioned the name so casually/confidently as if reciting his middle name.

We were all mesmerized by the last song. "The Bon Vivants" ??? Didn't quite get the group's name. Superlative film.

About twice as many in attendance as projected.

Is it o.k. if I tell members to meet you in the lobby at 8:45? I made you event host. I will try to attend but would arrive during the previews. Thanks for suggesting this.

I'll be there. On a roll BTW, with four hours notice I placed an abandoned 'pit bull' in a home. And just got my 2012 Tax return. Is looking REALLY, REALLY good. And good things always happen in threes ...

I've got a dinner meetup at Watanabe that I'm hosting at 7. I may miss you before the previews start. If anyone has time, stop in the lobby for a few minutes after as I'd enjoy discussing the film with everyone. Enjoy!

This is the last night of the run and wanted to catch it before it left town. Reviews seem to put it at around an 8/10
