Greetings film lovers,
Do you prefer films that are independent, foreign, classic, cult, or silent? In short, arthouse-style films? Us too! So come see a movie with us at Nashville's only arthouse theatre, the Belcourt! The Belcourt is run by a non-profit organization, and the wonderful staff loves film and cares about the mission to preserve this historic establishment. They showcase some of the best movies to come to Nashville, and serve the most reasonably-priced popcorn, candy and drinks in town, as well as a small but thoughtful selection of wine and beer. We will often schedule drinks or dinner in Hillsboro Village at a restaurant like Fido, either before or after the films, and we will occasionally add non-movie events (concerts, plays) to the calendar. Even if a Meet-Up is not scheduled, follow this link http://www.belcourt.org/ to find out what's opening/playing. Also, there are no membership dues for this group.
The Belcourt opened as a silent theater in 1925. My first visit to the Belcourt was to see Popeye in 1980 at a friend's birthday party. I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark 10 times at the Belcourt in the summer of 1981 and have been a regular customer ever since. I hope that you'll join our meetup and to see you at a film screening soon!
—Parking's always free in the Belcourt's lot when you're attending a movie (and do note that meters in Hillsboro Village are free on weekends, because there are times the Belcourt lot is completely full). However, you will need to get a parking pass.
—If you buy your ticket online and choose the "print at home" option, you'll have a parking pass attached to your ticket.
—If you buy your ticket at the box office, the Belcourt will actually give you a pass you can put on your dashboard (so you don't have to go back to the paystation and enter a code).
