Yes, ukulele and guitar and mostly self-taught and what I have learned from people playing at jams.
I have been playing guitar for many years and have been dabbling in the ukelele for a few years. It was on a Hawaiian cruise (and the ukelele players I met on board ship) and a new custom ukelele from kauai, that renewed my interest in this crazy, versatile, fun-to-play instrument. I enjoy singing and playing music and the wonderful people one meets at jams, ukelele classes, and performances. I want to learn to play more proficiently, learn to play with others and expand my repertoire of songs, as well as share my love of music with others.
I have five ukeleles. A soprano, 2 tenors, a concert, and baritone.
Yes, I am retired and have control (somewhat) over my schedule.
I was shopping and drove by The Strum Shop...went in and was warmly greeted and welcomed by Daniel, the store manager.
I play guitar and I am learning ukulele. I come from a musical family. My mother was an accomplished pianist and my father played the guitar, violin, and piano. Me and my four brothers play musical instruments.
Great group of ukulele players friendly, accommodating and eager to share their love of music. The Strum Shop is very accommodating and great hosts.
