...Stumptown Movie Makers and PDX Film Club have joined forces for this event. We are holding a screening of multiple short films which were produced by local film makers from the PDX Film Club (you can find them on their Facebook page), and from of our own Stumptown Movie Makers group members. This will take place on Saturday, June 8th at 8:00 P.M. at the 5th Avenue Cinema (on the PSU campus), and is thanks to Laurie Gabriel's substantial efforts. Thanks, Laurie!
We expect to screen movies for most every taste within our collection of shorts, (and we plan to have free popcorn to taste as well)!
Our rented theater space is limited to 100 people, so we are asking all interested parties to RSVP with an accurate attendee count. Please reserve your seats, but only if you are actually going to attend … because we don't want to have unnecessarily vacant seats (and we have to pay for them our of our own pockets). We may have seats available at show time, but we will have to wait to see. We ARE promoting this event through additional means ... so don't wait too long to reserve YOUR seats!
PLEASE NOTE: Attendees listed on our site do not include the attendees now collecting on several other lists being built from multiple separate promotional campaigns, so don't let this list be your only expectation of event attendance!
Attendance is FREE, but we expect to take a freewill offering to help cover the costs of theater rental and free popcorn. So, if you can afford it, you may wish to bring a dollar or three per attendee to encourage this kind of community event in the future.
Please support your community filmmakers by attending this event. Because ... "When you make a film ... you deserve an audience!"
One exciting additional new development to mention: ... Parker, a member of Stumptown Movie Makers and star of live stage, screen, print media, TV commercials, Music Videos, anti-cancer advocate, an active children's care-in-hospital advocate, Children's reading skill advancement and more, has committed to attending our event (He's also staring in two of the scheduled videos ...). And I'm told he may even be enticed to perform for early arrivals before the shows start, if his manager permits.
Bring your friends and family for a relaxing inexpensive evening out!
If other filmmakers have films they wish to submit for future possible screenings, we would be interested in hearing from you. I expect we will consider holding an additional screening dates in the future if this event is a success, because we want to share all our good films on the big screen.
Please check back … This meeting notice will be updated as additional details are known.
