MARCH-ing into the spring production season for Movie Making ... Let's Talk!

Come join us Saturday the 29th of March at 2:30 PM!

Along with our other topics of conversation and networking, we'd like for you to bring your own ideas and projects to discuss. What are you working on now? Any proposals for new projects? Any help you might need? Any ideas to share which our group members might like to work on? Is there a subject you would like to discuss? Or questions about how to accomplish something? Or perhaps some training we might be able to provide from our memberships' resources? Someone in our group has knowledge and experience you might really appreciate, and they may be very willing to share. But you, and all the rest of us have to ask, or we won't get their help!

I expect we will also discuss some opportunities for our members to volunteer ... to help on at least one specific upcoming project. It is a scripted short story which will include some interesting challenges to shoot! Various important crew positions may still be available and the assistance will be advantageous to an efficient and effective production. Previous experience is NOT required, but can, of course be helpful. Several of the actors are chosen, but I think the Director may be looking for some background actors ("Extras") to include in some of the scenes as well.

Come see if this project might be something you would enjoy working on and learn from!

An additional topic to cover ...

It is also planned that we will present a new "Video Challenge" at this meeting! We've done this before, and had some good fun and excellent results from the experience in the past.  We will invite our membership to produce a short video to share with us, meeting one or more guidelines. It's not unlike some of the contests movie makers currently enter, but on a much smaller, simpler and low budget/no budget scale!

Several topics or concepts will be presented, and two or more chosen at this meeting. Individuals or groups of people may participate in producing an entry into our "competition" to see what our members can imagine and create. Entrants may use any equipment available to them, owned, borrowed, or begged. You may ask for any kind of assistance from others, inside or outside of our group. But the end product must be in a form we can share at a meeting ... so our members in attendance can "judge" them. And we may have a pretty cool prize for the winner (I'm still working on that with a potential sponsor!)

Come join in ... new members and old. It's relaxed and fun!

Let's get started on an enjoyable, memorable and productive summer of creativity! One that includes YOU!

Thanks! Larry

Thanks to Craig's suggestions and wise input, and some available materials I have previously created, we now intend to include a short presentation and discussion of some of the paperwork and processes which may be quite useful to those preparing to shoot a project. Preparing, planning and executing certain tasks prior to "the last minute" before commencing an active production shoot ... can save a project's "bacon"! You and our other members may be able to add important additional details and related information to this subject as well!

Jump on-board, and let's hone our collective skills and knowledge regarding making movies!
