Suburban Chicago Vegetarian Meetup Message Board › Vegan Bake Sale This Sunday, Oct. 7th!!!
This Sunday, October 7th, we'll be hosting a Vegan Bake Sale at Countryside Unitarian in Palatine. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Save-A-Pet no-kill animal shelter in Grayslake and HEART, a wonderful Chicago-based organization dedicated to instructing youth and teachers in humane education. If you haven't been to one of our bake sales in the past, you're in for a real treat! Why? First of all, it's ALL vegan! No separate menus with only two things to choose from or having to ask endless questions. In the past we've offered a wide variety of items including organic, gluten free, sugar free, and raw. I would like to offer that same quality and diversity this weekend that the generous folks at Countryside and everyone else have come to expect.
The best way we can offer a wide variety of yummy vegan goods is to have lots of bakers. We currently only have a few who have volunteered items and it would be fantastic if we could have some more. I know there are some amazing bakers in this group, so please don't be shy! Show us how you've veganized that classic apple pie you grew up with or that pumpkin bread recipe that is so delicious this time of year. Check the meetup site for full event details and post a comment on what you can bring, if you can help sell, or are coming with a full appetite to buy. Let's make this the best vegan bake sale yet and raise some much-needed funds for these two amazing organizations who contribute so much to our local communities. Thank you for everything you do, and have a great week!
