"I am delighted to have the rare opportunity to bring Dr. Melanie Joy back to Chicago for a special appearance with the Chicago vegan community. Joy’s first vegan event here in November of 2011 was a huge success and we’ve been working very hard around her busy schedule to get her back!

This hands-on workshop will involve Melanie Joy raising some important talking points and then opening them up for group discussion. This is a golden opportunity to get direct feedback on specific concerns and issues from one of the leading figures in the vegan movement.

Melanie Joy’s talk will cover the most pressing issues and concerns confronting the vegan movement right now and how vegans can employ an understanding of carnism as a tool for effective advocacy. Her talk will be followed by a question and answer session. I hope to provide more details on the topics in the days to come.

To cover part of the costs of her travel and space rental, tickets for the event will be $7 and I’m asking that people interested in attending make their ticket purchase in advance as space will be limited. Tickets can be purchased via PayPal. I will be providing details on that shortly.

If you have any further questions at this time, please email me privately at
