  • This weekly ride is scheduled on Mondays starting on April 7, 2014 and is scheduled to end on September 29, 2014. The ride will depart from Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: D thru A,

Speed: 10-20 mph, Distance: 10-40 miles. Come ride with the largest evening cycling group in the Delaware Valley ( over 100 riders). We have 7 different ride groups ranging from our slowest paced "Hybrid Bike" group ( rides at 8-10 mph pace for 15 miles ) up to our "A" group ( 18-20 mph up to 30-40 miles). All rides start 6pm sharp and finish at sunset ( the Hybrid group finishes at 7:30). We also have post-ride socials at the Great American Pub in Wayne as well as two "tailgate" nights in the COS lot where BCP and SCU provide free pizza and soda to all riders. We also provide Q sheets and experienced ride leaders and sweep riders so no one gets lost! We do not ride on holidays that fall on a Monday ( Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.). Rain cancels the ride but join the group Elist for last minute updates when weather is questionable. Cue sheets will be available. Organizers: Thomas G. Madle, [masked],[masked], John W. Moser, [masked],[masked]

Sorry, had the route saved as private somehow. Should be okay now, let me know if you still have trouble.

Forecast currently calling for scattered showers. If it's wet or high probability of wetness I have an alternate route, stay tuned.

Thanks George, looking forward to the ride tonight with you if I'm not called out to work. What would the avg pace be mph for this ride if weather permits?

If we do the hilly route I think around 16-17, if the longer but less hilly one then 17-18 would be a good guess, could be a little faster because there are long stretches where the group can keep up a good pace. Weather will affect the pace of course.

Since the forecast says there is a good chance of wet roads or rain I have an alternate route that we may use: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4978654 This route is longer but has a bit less climbing and fewer turns. I believe it's safer if roads become wet. I will make the final call at the time of the ride.

This week's route for the A ride goes into Philadelphia on some roads I don't regularly ride. So expect a slower pace on some sections so we make all the turns. Still plenty of places to get some good intervals on the route. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4963093 This is Tom's route with only one minor modification. 31.6 miles, about 2000 feet of climbing total. Steepest grade reported at 12.5%. Hopefully no broken chains this week ;)

I am a newbie to riding on streets, do you have a website you can point me to about sharing the road with cars? I am used to dedicated trails. Thanks!
